I enjoy watching the squirrels running all over our yard. The Black Walnut trees along with my bird feeders keep them close by for my enjoyment. I would like to identify each one and have considered trapping them and then using some type of non-harmful dye so I can track each one. Has anyone ever tried anything like this? I have never been able to tell a young one from full grown so this could let me know which is the new generation each year.
