I don't know what it is but the red on this Japanese Maple is outstanding in the Fall.
I took this photo last month. I've never been a big fan of the big money trees and even more-so all the dissected cultivars of Acer Palmatum. But, this red can't be beat from what I've seen. I don't know which cultivar this one is, but when its red all I can say is wow..lol
I'm thinking its gonna crowd the porch and walk pretty good down the road, but that tree isn't going anywhere!

I think you forgot your viburnums...

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes - I was building up to that. ^_^

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Actually, I missed many of the viburnums and JM's this year, for some reason. Seemed they were not ready every time I checked. Then we had a stretch of rain and most of it had passed!

I hope you voted for my Mohawk bloom in the contest! (It may have been the only vote.)

Scott County, KY(Zone 5b)

Embarrassingly, I've never even looked at nor voted in the contest.

I think a need a training course in DG Offerings That Are Not Woody Plants Related.

Shame! There is a Trees & Shrubs category!

Victor and others. Your wonderful photos are about the only fall color I have gotten to enjoy. We had severe freeze in early Oct. down to 15 degrees for 3 or 4 nights and froze everything, Lots of the brown frozen leaves are still attached to trees despite lots of wind.

So much thanks for the great variety of leaf color.

Donna
