They were so helpful regarding a particular plant I was interested in and the risks of shipping/planting in my area at this particular time. I received the plant very quickly and it looked great. I planted it right away and love it!

Not just positive, SUPER positive! Debi & Jim were GREAT both through email and on the phone. They had the Magnolia Ashei I wanted and shipped it to me in no time flat! Jim packages plants so you do NOT have to worry about them! "She" arrived safe and sound and was in the ground before the week was out! She is a nice healthy specimen that I will enjoy for many years!

I tell everyone that asks where I was able to find this hard to locate plant and the GREAT service they provide! I will definitely order from them AGAIN!

My experience with Jim and Debi at NNN was wonderful! I arrived, armed with a list of numerous species of wildflowers and shrubs for wildlife, and left satisfied with a car full of plants and a head full of new plant knowledge. Jim walked around with me for over 3 hours, past closing, discussing the plants I wanted, what would be appropriate for my yard, the best ways of transplanting, amongst many other topics. They have an enormous variety of plants, both rare and commonly found out in nature (but usually not found in nurseries). I am so glad I live so close to them, and I am definitely going back for the Fall planting season!!

What a great company! I didn't find their website until after their last shipping date. I live in zone 5 and am now just planting due to cold weather. I contacted them to see if I would still be able to order. They not only let me order, but I had my plants within a week! Their communication is excellent, the plants were HUGE, and well packaged. I can see why they are in the top rated companies on watchdog. It was the greatest experience buying mail order that I've ever had and I've been gardening for over 20 years! I will definitely order again next year!!! A++++++

I have been communicating with Jim for the last 5 years. I am in Long Beach, MS but visit relatives in Atlanta often. I tell Jim what I want and pick it up on my way home. His knowledge and advice have helped me to recover from Katrina and build a study collection of native trees and shrubs to share with friends, neighbors and scout troupes. I have let Jim know what I want for next year and he said he will have some ready by them. How can you do better than that! Thanks.

I had been looking for the spider lilly (sorry Jim don't remember that long REAL name you told me many times) for my yard makeover. I finally found the GREATEST nursery and Jim who was a great help. Jim talked with me way after closeing time and helped me find the right growing spot in my yard for my flowers. I was very happy with the shipping service and how my plants arrived at new home in Florida. They are growing well and happy. Thank you to Jim for your time and help. I would use them again if needed.

Jim took us on a garden tour and educated us about soooo many plants. We asked lots of questions about native species and how they would work in our location and shady yard. Left with great species and anxious to return soon for more.

It was great. Loved the birds too.

Ordered a magnolia macrophylla. Very nice plant, came in at a time I was very busy at work and didn't have an opportunity to plant it right away. My wife just stuck it in a 3 gallon pot for the time being. After a lot of heavy rain during the following week after arrival, I was surprised to see the plant has 6 inches of new growth on it that popped up since we got it. It's only supposed to grow 18 inches a year!

This was NOT a mail order transaction, but an on-site purchase. At least one of the owners has always been there when I have, and both are familiar with their stock. I enjoy browsing the location, as well as their plant catalog, but the opportunity to see things in a naturalized setting is invaluable, thus even if there's a long drive involved, you won't make a mistake coming. I found Iris Cristata that I've only seen in a catalog as well as some heirloom tomatoes - a combo that can't be beat. Prices are consistent with the quality of the plants and advice that you get from Jim and Debbie, the owners - local nurseries with the selection of plants that Nearly Native has are almost impossible to find, but worth their weight in compost.

Last week I was looking at the Nearly Native website and was going to order a few plants due to the good reviews here on GW. As it turns out, I had a meeting I had to attend in Atlanta over the weekend and decided to go by instead of ordering online.

I was very impressed with the nursery and the plants. As I walked through, every plant I saw looked healthy. They have a beautiful woodland garden to the side of the nursery as well. It is not as big as some nurseries I have been to, but their knowledge and selection impressed me. I was able to get the plants that I was looking for although I did make some last minute changes to my list. In all I got a fringe tree, florida flame azalea, orange flowering tea olive, and a redbud tree. (of course my 7 year old daughter had to buy some annuals as well). The root systems were perfect, sufficient healthy roots that were not root bound.

I haven't dealt with their mail/internet ordering system as of yet, but I would feel confident in ordering from them after seeing the offerings at the nursery.

The only suggestion I would have for them would be to redesign their website. It is somewhat hard to navigate, and doesn't give an overall polished appearance. That could scare away some potential customers.

What a pleasant surprise finding Nearly Native Nursery - walking onto the grounds for the first time Saturday was like nothing else we had ever experienced. Jim and Debi were like meeting old high school friends and the nursery was amazing. Jim walked us thru the gardens explaining the different plants, and where most nurseries we have visited sometimes made us feel "not plant smart and overwhelmed" - Jim made us feel quite enlightened and patiently answered every one of our questions, even if we asked it several times during the garden tour. Can't wait to get back to Fayetteville for another visit - Tony and Karrie Crow, Carrollton, GA

I just received the plant I ordered, and I have to mention how beautiful it is. The Cyrilla racemiflora is just a gallon size, but the plant itself must be close to two feet tall already, and is well-branched, and full. I am very happy with the surprisingly large, and healthy plant I received.

These guys have a FABULOUS selection of hard to find plants! I was very impressed with not only the healthy top growth but especially the care taken of the roots. these roots were full but not the least bit bound! I usually have to tear roots apart, despite the shock, to ensure long term health. Not so with this company. The plants I ordered took off like a marathon winner with the jump start Nearly Native Nursery gave there roots. I have tried many mail order companies; this one takes the cake!

Nearly Native Nursery is a pleasure to do business with. Communication prior to and during the shipping process of the plants was exemplary, as was the packaging of the plants (in fact, one of the trees had sprouted during shipment). They were extremely helpful in deciding which plants and trees would do well in my growing zone in south central Florida. I cannot say enough good things about these people, and will do business with them in the future (will be ordering some dogwoods in a year or two when the current shipment of trees can provide shade).

What a fantastic experience at a local nursery. Both Jim and Debi went out of their way to make us feel welcome and valued as customers. As I was making some plant selections, Jim spent time with me to make sure that what I thought I wanted was, in fact, the correct plant for me. I will return to this nursery as often as I can.

I am lucky enough to live within driving distance of Nearly Native. If you are ever that way it is a must see. I find something new everytime I go there. Thanks for the knowledge and the great natives.
