I foolishly ordered from another mail order company and was coming down from a terrible experience, especially for the start of the summer. I worked up the nerve to try another web search and found Garden Harvest Supply. I decided to take the risk and I am delighted that I did! My ordered arrived quickly, the plants are beautiful, healthy, and strong, and my garden -- and spirits -- realized a happy and uplifting transition! Thank you, thank you!

I have been growing Salmon double impatiens for some years now. I normally purchase them from a local supplier, but usually I can only find a few of the Salmon color.

This year during the first part of April, I found the website for Garden Harvest Supply and saw that it had a beautiful Salmon Double Impatien called Musica Pastel Salmon. I ordered 10 and the order was shipped by UPS Priority mail on April 13 and arrived days later. The plants appeared healthy and were well packed. I could not tell the color of the buds as they were yet quite well closed. I gave my neighbor a couple as we both like the Salmon color. I also planned to raise the balance and as they grew and spread, I planned to re-pot some, let them grow larger and take some to our local farmer's market. I would keep enough for myself to enjoy.

I planted the balance of my impatiens in a huge pot and after the weather showed signs of being suitable to hardy these plants up, I put them on my deck. My neighbor kept hers inside on a window sill. She called one day and said that the impatiens I gave her were starting to blossom and that they were pink, not salmon. She asked if mine were as well. I could not say at the time as mine were still not opened. A week or so later, mine started opening and indeed, were pink.

I emailed gardenharvestsupply.com on Thursday, May 27th, at 11:43 a.m. and explained that what I received was not what I ordered. I enclosed a picture of the ones I now had planted, showing that these were not Salmon, but Pink. Hearing nothing by noon the next day, May 28th, I sent a second inquiry at 2:43 in the afternoon. At 5:30 p.m. the same day, I received an email from a GHS employee, telling me that "she would show the picture to the Greenhouse and get this fixed." Also she said "she would not know until Tuesday, June 1st, when they would be shipping the correct variety....but would let me know."

Today, June 3rd, 2010, I received an email from the employee telling me the following: "The greenhouse said that those look like the right variety. The color should fill out nicely as they continue to get bigger. If they do not look right when they get bigger please let us know.

What kind of fertilizer are you using?"

I emailed her back, sent another picture, along with a picture of what they advertised on their website as a double Musica Pastel Salmon Impatien (what I bought and paid for) and among other things, asked "if HARVEST GARDEN SUPPLY did not stand behind its products....that the only way the flowers I received could be considered to be of a Salmon color is if I spray painted them." I advised them that I would post this comment to let others know of my experience. I do not expect that this company will honor my original order. Pink is pretty, but I did not have to order online to get it. There are plenty of Pink Impatiens available right in my own area. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone.

On June 4th, 2010, suziegrows changed the rating from negative to positive and added the following:

Today, June 4, 2010, I received an email from the GHS employee advising me "We do stand behind our plants however there would be no point in sending you more because they will look exactly like what you have now. Since we cannot get you the plants that you wanted we have refunded you for the entire order, below is the receipt of that refund." I am impressed and I thank them for advising me of this resolution. As she said, "your problem is with our company and not me personally" when she requested that I remove her name from the prior posting. I realized when I came back to do so, that I could only "add" to the posting, so, as I stated above, I would personally like to thank her for doing whatever she had to do to resolve the problem.
She was the only person, associated with the company, with whom I had communication, therefore her name was the only one mentioned. Due to her actions, I am now satisfied with changing my rating to a positive. She has been extremely nice and professional in my communications with her. A nice ending to what at first appeared to be "never ending."

After reading the positive reviews here, I decided to place an order in early 2010. I've been trying to find a good source for annuals and herbs, as I've been really disappointed with the condition of the annuals I've ordered from other companies in the past. I didn't know what to expect from Garden Harvest Supply, but I was so pleasantly pleased by the condition of the plants when they arrived that I promptly placed another order. After the second shippment arrived, I contacted the customer service dept. about a question I had regarding a substitution that was made and have been so impressed with their service that really exceeded my expectations. Not only did they applogize for not contacting me about the need for a substitution, they are sending me another plant of my choice for free. I've ordered from many nurseries and know that not contacting a customer about a substitution is often standard procedure and I also know that when placing an order in late spring, supplies are limited and substitutions are expected. So I am really pleased that they took my minor problem seriously when they could have easily been like some companies I've dealt with and ignore it. I highly recommend this company and will definitely order from them again.

Billed 4/6 for mums....have yet to receive them and the most frustrating part is that I have e-mailed them and called them and have yet to hear a word from them as to what the status of my order is. Mid day phone resulted in "unable to come to phone.....etc" .I will dispute my credit card charges today and never order again from them. They are unprofessional. I order lots on line and receive prompt replies via e-mail if I have any small problem. Not from this company.

We do collect funds when the order is placed, otherwise we cannot guarantee delivery and we would have to call you back and get your credit card number again because of the time delay between processing and shipping. I totally understand if you cancel your order, however we would be happy to keep them in line for shipping if this is an acceptable reply.

I found this company on the watchdog list and I put in a good sized order for annuals and perennials. The prices were the big draw (2.50 for fuchsia!) and they had Rex Begonias which I really really wanted to try this year. I got the plants and the all looked good except for the begonias which looked pretty rough. The rest of the plants were small (which I expected for the price) but healthy looking. Everyone got a nice week to harden off on my porch (which is the perfect spot for hardening). While the other plants continued to look great the Begonias kept heading downhill :( I emailed the company and asked for a replacement of the Begonias. The response was very prompt (within hours) and they sent out two beautiful replacement plants the next week.
I am very pleased with the excellent customer service, the good prices, and I would definitely recommend this company.

This was my first purchase, I was hoping I may order from them again... but this first experience has not been the best yet.

I ordered some tomato cages and those red plastic mulch sheet 11 days ago. The site says Fast Shipping, and i'm only one state away [the map shows one day in transit], so i figured the package would be waiting for me when i got back from my trip. Nope. I've emailed twice, granted on a Sunday night... but here it is 1.30pm est and no reply email.

I called, no answer.

I can understand if the product is back ordered.... but i'd like a courtesy email. Did i get one? nope.

I'm hoping I dont have to move this to a 'negative' comment, as i really don't like to do that.

I would just like a response.... and my order.

As a first-time customer, I placed an order for 4 tomato plants in early February. My shipment arrived April 10th, and when I was ready to set out the plants on 4/12 I opened the carton to discover that 3 of the 4 plants had become dislodged from their square plastic "pots". Also, the identity tags were scattered among the loose dirt in the shipping carton, so I had no idea which tag went with which plant. All 4 plants were in a wilted condition, but I set them out anyway and hoped to salvage them. Only the plant still in its "pot" survived... the other 3 quickly dried up and perished. Since I'd opted for USPS shipping on this order, I decided to place a second order for the same group of plants but shipped via 2nd day air. Meanwhile, I managed to contact the company president (Joe Stutzman) via e-mail, and explained what had transpired. He quickly solved my problems, by upgrading the shipping on my replacement order to Next Day air, and canceling the second charge on my credit card. And since the replacement plants arrived still in their respective "pots" and in excellent condition with their tags in place, I was able to get them planted quickly and they now appear to be thriving. If things continue in this fashion, I've informed Mr. Stutzman that he can count on my repeat business!
