I guess I have to add my voice to the other negative comments about this company. I guess I don't understand how they can carry so many products for sale and then fail to take the time to answer a short e-mail. I ordered 4 tomato plants on May 1 and the company confirmed my order via e-mail. It is may 16th and I have heard nothing further. I have e-mailed 3 times and received no reply. I am not asking for the world, just a shipping date. I checked their shipping date page on their website and according to it the last ship date for Ohio was 04/28/08. If they are too busy to mess with me, why don't they just say so?? I guess I will buy locally.

I'm having the same problem with these people. This is the worst customer service I have ever seen. I ordered a seed planter and had it 2nd day aired. After 4 days I called and emailed and left messages! I'm not joking when I say I tried calling about 40 times before someone picked up!! They gave me back the money for the second day air, but guess what, I still do have what I ordered a week and a half ago.
good luck to anone trying to get through to these people

Dear Sndavis: Let me start by stating that we do appreciate your business. You are correct about our customer service back in the fist part of May; it has now been corrected. Along with a tremendous increase in business (which we are very thankful for), we have had manufactures of certain products that are so busy this year that we had not been receiving our orders as they were placed. Unfortunately the Earthway & Lambert seeders were two companies that were so busy they could not keep up for a while. So on top of our company issues we had manufacture issues which magnified the problem. Please accept my sincere apology.

Ordered a planter with 3 day delivery on 5/5/08(extra $25) and have yet to recieve planter 5/11/08. Called and left message. Website won't take e-mail. E-mailed twice from this sight. Still no response. Read earlier posts regarding similar problems with delivery. Member was contacted after leaving negative comment. Hopefully this will work for me too. Just checked my account @ gardenharvestsupply.com nothing has changed.

Dear Brettn8r: It looks like it arrived on the 12th. As I posted on an earlier comment, the Lambert factory could not keep up earlier this spring. We will be building up a larger inventory for next years rush in order to try and avoid some of these issues. I will have the girls refund your account for the extra shipping if they have not already done so. Thanks for your business, I trust the seeder is a joy to use.

I guess you take the good with the bad. Was good to find a source for Heirloom Tomatoes, was bad ordering from this company. Order placed April 22ed , billed same day and supposedly "processed" same day, well today March 2ed no plants and ne reply to my 2 e-mails. So it seems that this is the norm for this company. Well as with everything you get lucky and sometimes not. Advice look to other companies and if you do order place a comment to the effect that if they cant ship to not bill. Allan Georgia

I emailed Garden Harvest Supply in the middle of April and asked them if they had Sweet Potato Slips in stock and if they could ship immediatly. I received a reply within a few days saying they had them instock and ready to ship. So, I placed an order on 04-21-08. It is now 04-25-08. I have emailed four times asking when my order will ship and they will not reply. They were very quick to charge my credit card but now can't seem to find time to answer an email. I can only conclude they were lying to me when they said my item was in stock and will not answer my emails because they can not ship my order. I advise everyone not to order from this company.

On April 28th, 2008, SpudRanger changed the rating from negative to neutral and added the following:

In response to my review I received a phone call on the 25th from a rep at Garden Harvest. He was very nice and apologized for not being able to reply to my emails in a timely manner. He explained that they were very busy processing orders at this time of year. He said my order would be shipped as soon as Monday. I thanked him and explained that all I wanted to know was when my order would be shipped and that the only issue I had with Garden Harvest was the lack of response to my emails. I am expecting my order to ship Monday and receive it by the end of the week.
On May 2nd, 2008, SpudRanger changed the rating from neutral to positive and added the following:

I received my order as promised. I just want to state that my only issue with Garden Harvest was the lack of response to my emails. They might want to ramp up their customer service a little. Customers do not like to be ignored. end of story.

Dear SpudRanger: I would like to apologize for our slowness in responding your emails. As you are aware it takes 3-5 days to process our plant orders, so when you ordered on the 21st, it would be later in the week before they would actually ship. However that does not take care of our slow response times. All I can say is that we have had an exceptional high amount of orders this week (which we are thankful for) and had to prioritize some of our tasks. I am afraid that the email questions were getting shuffled down the list so we could keep up with the order processing. It is not our desire to ignore you as our customers are very important to use. It appears you do not feel very important and for that I apologize. I hope you will give us another opportunity in the future to serve you better.

Sincerely, Garden Harvest Supply

I placed my order 25 Feb 08. Paid extra for priorty shipping. Received my shipment today 4/16/08 and I must say I was quite disappointed. the plants were shipped 4/14/08 as expected due to shipping schedule from a company called Stoll and Stutzman Inc. The box was bulging but undamaged. Upon opening the box it was full of lose soil, however there was absolutely NO soil in the pots of what was supposed to be geraniums, one pot was even squished. The box was not wet outside, but all the card board surrounding the pots was wet. I've bought a lot of products through the mail and this time it was not a very pleasing experience. Not to mention I can't believe I paid nearly $5 bucks for the little sprigs I received that were sold as geraniums. One of the 8 fuchsias only has two very tiny leaves, and a couple others are not much better... I think I may have wasted my money here. I am totally not satisfied with what I received. I'm going to plant the sprigs and see if they survive, I seriously doubt it.

I received a quick apology in response to my negative rating. They quickly replaced the entire order and even included a couple of extra free plants that I had not expected but really appreciated. The packaging was much better and the plants were of a much better quality. I have changed my rating to positive and will order from them again in the future.

Dear MrsJudes92: I am very sorry to hear your shipment arrived in such terrible condition. I would like to assure you that this is not how are shipments normally arrive. You may have missed it on our web site but we fully stand behind our plants orders. If for some reason the shipping process damages any of the plants, we will gladly reship or refund the order. It sounds like the plants will be okay; however if not please contact us and we will reship your order ASAP. Thanks again for your order. Sincerely, GHS"

I failed to see the shipping dates. Maybe it could be more visible. They did E-mail me back to let me know when the shipping would take place and that made me feel a little better. Now that I know when to expect my plants I wish I would have shopped locally. I have never tried to grow asparagus before so maybe it is for the best. Pretty much my fault. CHECK the SHIPPING DATES.

Dear Kbeaner thanks so much for taking the time to post your response here at the Watch Dog. I want to thank you for your order, you will not be disappointed. We highly value your business and do not take your comment lightly. I can say that we have the ship dates listed on each individual product page (there are 3 of them for asparagus) and also on the main info page for asparagus, that is a total of 4 date listings. Not sure how many more times we could have listed the ship dates? The reason asparagus ships later than you may have wanted is because the crown are harvested fresh from the fields in New Jersey. They are not able to harvest them until the ground has warmed up and also has dried out enough for them to work in the fields. There is no where you can buy fresh, Jersey Asparagus crowns at this time of year - as they are all grown on the farm in New Jersey. You will not be sorry for the wait as Jersey Asparagus is the BEST asparagus available. "

I ordered 4 Abutilons of different varieties. They came within a couple of weeks. They were absolutelyl beautiful. Very healthy and some even had blooms. They sent a duplicate of one and forgot the other. I notified them by email and within 1 week the forgotten one was at my door. In the box was a very nice apology. Yes, mistakes happen. And they certainly corrected it in a timely and professional way.
I was very pleased and would order from them again.
Based on my experience, I highly recommend them.

Took almost a month to ship the plants, a month they could have been growing. I trusted this company because they had a couple of positive reviews. Perhaps because it was so late when they finally shipped the plants to me in zone 6, I might have gotten leftover plants--leggy, spindly, sickly things that never thrived.

Last summer I red and yellow pear tomato plants from another company and I harvested so many we couldn't even eat them all, and they were only planted in 7 gallons of soil. I didn't know any better last summer. These plants I planted in 20 gallons of soil each, and I barely got a quart's worth from each plant. I should have just sent them back when I saw how leggy they looked but their delay in shipping already made me so late in planting out that I really had no choice.

You get what you pay for. Their prices are very low, but so is their quality, service and organization. Never again. A summer is too short to much with this kind of CRAP company!

We would like to refute this negative comment that has been placed by khadie. We have NO customer that lives in Montgomery Village, MD, as this user has stated they live. Also they have just registered on September the 6th as a Dave’s Garden user and they are talking about something that happened back in April or May, does not sound right to us and why did they not contact us? Garden Harvest Supply’s greenhouse strives to not only give good prices but quality products. We back up all of our plant orders with a guarantee that states if they arrive in a condition that is not acceptable, we will replace or refund the order. If this person does actually plant in containers and this is only their second year, it is very possible that they are not supply the proper water and nutrients that container gardening requires for good harvesting of the produce. We feel that this is an attack on our company by a competitor and would appreciate it if you would ignore this negative comment by khadie. Sincerely, Garden Harvest Supply "

Made an order of brocolli, cilantro, and various tomato plants on 4/21 (Sat.). Received an e mail 4/25 (Wed.) that the order had been shipped. Inquired why I had not recieved my order yet on 5/14 (Mon.) over three weeks later. Received an apology e mail 5/18 (Fri.) stating the order was shipped out and on 5/20 (Sun.) a confirmation number. Order was finally recieved 5/21. Out of 10 various tomato plants only one only did not survive and that was my fault. Only half of the brocolli plants received survived, and I am not sure as to why. Last, cilantro 1 of 2 survived. That plants I received looked to be healthy upon arrival. Overall, I will try this company again, but am still not impressed at the constant prodding to get results and responses taking days, not hours. Hopefully this does not happen to anyone else and I was just a glick in the system.

I am so pleased. The plants I got had strong roots, sturdy stalks, & healthy leaves. The price was a real bargain for the size and health of these herbs, and they were here in 2 days. I planted them all and they all sprang up out of the ground the next morning. Couldn't be happier and will be buying from them again.

I ordered 16 Belgian Mums from this company and they arrived very healthy with no wilt and in potting soil in tiny bags. They are now planted and thriving. I liked the fact that they organized the mums into groups of blooming time: very early, early, mid-season & late. It made ordering easy. The company has good communication and provides easy access to ask questions and make comments. They also carry garden supplies and other perennials and heirloom vegetables. I can't wait till fall to see the Belgian Mums in bloom! Great plants, Reasonable shipping, and Great communication! I would order again......actually I did! After my initial order of 6 mums, I ordered 10 more!
