ordered $300. worth of blackberry plants in Feb. 2018. Never received anything. Tried many times to contact them & they never returned my calls. They finally answered an email & promised to get my refund check in the mail. As of June 28, still nothing. They keep making excuses, bad storms, lost files, etc... DO NOT ORDER FROM THESE PEOPLE !!!!, THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF !!!!!!!!!

I placed my order for 118 grapevines in December and requested delivery around the first of April. I started calling and leaving voice mails the second week of April. After reading this forum I decided to try an email and got a response from Jamie within 24 hours explaining she was short handed and the order would be shipped asap. I received the complete order in 2 days and the vines are the best I've ever gotten mail order. Large, healthy and with tons of roots. I will definitely order from them again, and be more patient:)

Posted on June 27, 2011, updated June 27, 2011 Posted on May 23, 2011, updated June 27, 2011 I started calling Arkansas Berry during mid-April. My husband wanted to know if he could still get some berry vines even though it was late in the season. I finally got a return phone call after 4 messages and 6 days. I spoke with Jamie and discussed the order. She indicated that the items could still be shipped as they were in the cooler. I mailed a money order for $68 and a completed order form. That was 4/29/11. To this day, 5/23/11, I have not received any berry vines or my money back. I have left numerous messages with no response. This is the kind of company that gives "mail order" a bad name!

On June 27th, 2011, pkshelton1 added the following: I finally received my original money order back in the mail on 6/21/2011 along with the original order form. My order was never shipped. I wish they had simply said there was no more product to ship or that I had waited too late in the year and all of this could have been avoided.
On June 27th, 2011, pkshelton1 added the following: The return of the money order was after the post on DG, a complaint with the AR Plant Board and a complaint with the BBB. I don't think I would have gotten any response from the them if I had not made such a fuss!!

The plants were about two months late, I called and talked to a lady and she told me she overlooked sending my order and I received my order with extras in just a few days. I first left a message and they returned my call the next day but only got my machine, when I called back someone answered so give them a chance when contacting them. I planted my vines in late february and as of today 7-18-2010 they look GREAT. All was well except the order was late but then taken care of with extras.

Posted on April 26, 2010, updated April 29, 2010 Recently I made an order with this company. Just over 100 bucks with 'shipping'. My order was a little late and I contacted Arkansas Berry.... they assured me that the order would ship the following day and they would provide a tracking number. After the order should have been shipped I asked for the tracking number. Since then I have receiving nothing but silence from them. It seems clear based on the previous comments that they have not cleaned up their act....and are willing to simple steal your money. I did tell them I would be leaving a negative response here and got no response......

On April 29th, 2010, jonjonson changed the rating from negative to positive and added the following: I did receive my order a couple days after this post..... I wish they had not stopped responding to my emails..... Had they explained the delay I would have been more understanding..... I hope they turn around the customer service side of their business.....

I ordered in July 2005 and they were going to ship in October but they never arrived. I emailed 20 times at least but never a response. I tried to call but the number was disconneted. I called another nursey in the area and found out that they were relatives and they told me that they hear this all the time. I filed a complaint with the better business and they will not even answer them. I still have not heard a word from them they cashed the check and STOLE MY MONEY.

While it took much longer than anticipated to receive my 3 blackberry, 3 blueberrry and 3 raspberry plants, the people at Arkansas Berry finally delivered all healthy, live plants. It is very hard to get them on the phone; in my experience I had to call and leave a message and wait for about a week for a response. Email sometimes worked faster, but not always. When my first order got lost in the mail, they promised to fix it by adding 6 free plants and they did so. I think people need to understand this is a huge operation with a small family running it and with weather and the sensititivity of berry plants orders may not arrive on time. Overall, I was extremely satisified with my order...customer service leaves a bit to be desired.

I ordered 50 blue berry and 100 raspberry to resell to local companies. I called them and they sounded nice and their prices were pretty good. I ordered my plants on the 20th of december and waited till the 1st to call them. Their excuse was that that it was too hot. Then I called them on the 5th and they said it was too cold. I tried about 3 dozen more long distant calls but no one was there. I tried their home phone, cell phone and pager but no one ever answered. So on the 14 I called another nursery and asked about them and they told me that lots of people have had the same problem with them. I WOULD NOT NEVER BUY A THING FROM THEM NO MATTER WHAT THEY TELL YOU OR WHAT ANYONE ELSE SAYS!!

In November of 2000 I ordered several trees, blackberries, and strawberries plants and prepaid plants and shipping cost. My check for over $128 dollars was cashed in January 2000. In mid February I started calling to see what was the problem with shipment. The first two times a female voice assured me the shipment would be shipping soon. The bad weather had made it impossible for them to get to the trees and plants and they were behind. By March 2001 I was asking for my money back. I never could get anyone on the phone again, only the answering machine. I sent several email but got no replies. In February of 2002. I again sent a email asking if they had recovered enough to ship my order this year. To date (10/28/2003), I have never received any plants or trees OR a refund. I never have received a email reply. I checked the web page for them today, and now they have a new phone number showing. All indications makes it look like they are still in business, although I don't know how. From the looks of this website responses they may not ship anything to anyone. Is this the same as mail fraud ? I DO NOT RECOMMEND ORDERING ANYTHING FROM "ARKANSAS BERRY & PLANT FARM"

I ordered 100 each of raspberry, blackberry, and boysenberry plants and heard nothing. After numerous e-mails and phone calls, only one of whiich was answered by a real person who assured me that my order was in the mail, I called another supplier in Arkansas who informed me that it was unlikely that I would get anything. She said that all of these Pense people are poor business people and are a black eye for the legitimate growers. She suggested that I call the Arkansas state plant board and let them know. I did and got a partial order the next week with no refund or notice of when the rest would be shipped. These people can be shut down if enough complain to the state. I have never been treated like this in any business. How hard is it to answer an email or drop a card or make a phone call. If you want quick service try Nourse (?) nursery in Massachusetts. I had my order in three days with beautiful plants.

They have decent products but they don't have any customer service. They take your money and you don't get your product until weeks after the contracted delivery date. Go elswhere. Someplace where the customer counts even a little.

I will never order from Arkansas Berry and Plant Farm again. They are very late with delivery and never respond to customer inquiries. Go somewhere where customer service counts.

I sent in an order for Cynthiana/Norton grapes with a check in January 2002. After hearing nothing from the company and receiving no grapes I called their number, it was disconnected. I sent an e-mail to make sure they had received my check and order, etc., and they did not return the e-mail. I found another phone number and contacted them--it was hooked up to an instant answer answering machine so I left a message. My check was never cashed and so in mid-March I called another company in Mountainburg, Arkansas, and spoke with the owner of another nursery and he said that the owner of Arkansas Berry was his son and he guaranteed me that either he or his son would contact me that night--which did not happen. So I cancelled my check ($20 cancellation fee) and checked the internet and in the end I was unable to buy any Cynthiana/Norton grapes for this year. Arkansas Berry, either because they are incompetent or simply don't care, never did contact me and screwed me out of a year of planting. So if you order from them, realize your e-mails go unanswered and even though I left messages on their answering machine (3-4) and requested they call me collect and that all I wanted to know was if they received my order--they simply ignored the customer and I never spoke to a live person.

My Husband & I were referred to Arkansas Berry & plant last summer by an aquaintance. We made an order for grapes, blueberries, fruit trees, and strawberries. We payed up front with a credit card. The time slipped by and we started wondering when our order was going to arrive. So we called and spoke to a lady named Jaime who seemed very sympathetic to our concern and reassued us that we would receive them soon. To make a long story short we waited and made several calls to Jaime who when we did get her would reassure us that we would get them in time. Well, summer comes on warm here in AR and we were getting really concerned that our plants, if they did come, would not be able to handle such a warm start. We contacted our friend who hadn't received her order yet either. We were really beginning to wonder about this company, but didn't want to seem like a pest. Finally, we called and were told that they would be shipped out UPS and we would have them in 3 days. Three days came and went and still no fruit trees. I don't remember the time frame, but they definitely did not come. My husband kept calling and leaving messages, but no one returned them. Finally, one day the UPS guy came. The weather at this point was way too warm to be setting out new trees and plants. But we had to do something, because the flyer that came with it said that we only had 10 days to return if the trees were bad. Well, the trees had no signs of life except when you cut the skin back a little you could see some green. That was not the case with all of them. They looked or at least completely dormant with no outer signs of life. The grapes were also void of any life. A few were obviously , but they had at least included a couple of extras. The bluberries looked the best. They weren't perfect, but were definitely alive. As far as the strawberries, there were none, just a note on the outside of one of the packing boxes which said in black marker, " Refund 100 strawberries." That was last year. We never saw hide nor hair of them since. In fact, I just e-mailed them before writing this to see if they would refund for the strawberries. I doubt that I will hear anything. We were SO DISAPPOINTED! We will NEVER order there again or recommend that anyone else does either.Unless they have changed, it's a bad place...

I have ordered blackberry plants from Arkansas berry farm. I placed my order in the middle of January to be delivered around the eighteenth of Feb. We are in March and I still have not received my plants. I have called many times and all I get is an answer machine. They will not return my call, plus I have e-mail them with no response. I placed the order with a check and the check was cashed on the fifteenth of Feb., about three weeks ago. I would highly recommend not using this nursery at all. I do not know how they are still in business. I've heard about other unsatisfied customers.

We too had a very similar experience with Arkansas Berry & Plant. Answering machines, late dates, sickly or dead trees and plants, all with the exception of no refund for the strawberries we paid for and never received. We are VERY DISSATISFIED! Go somewhere else.

Strawberry plants ordered in summer of 2001 for shipment in November to the first part of December is yet to be received Feb. 4, 2002. Messages left are not answered and no reply to mailed letters. Of course the plants were paid for at time of ordering. Would advise anyone to avoid my mistake.

I paid in advance for a mail order from this company owned by Pense in Winslow, Arkansas. I did not receive my order so I called and left messages, which were ignored, and my calls were not returned. Finally I called the father of the Pense family and he said they were moving and had problems with the weather, etc. He took a message for the Pense boys and promised they would receive my request for shipment or refund. After 1 month, still no answer so I resent the order with a copy of the canceled check signed by Jamie Pense. I asked for a refund or my merchandise. Over a month later I have received neither. I strongly recommend staying away from these people. In my opinion they are simply thieves

We ordered fruit trees and berry plants, paid in advance and after many follow-up phone calls and emails, finally received a late partial order and finally a refund for the products not shipped. The berries were a complete disaster, I am sure receiving them so late in the season didn't help. Out of 36 bushes, we have 4 survivors. After many numerous tries, they finally responded and promised to replace the dead berry bushes. They assured me that they would be sending the replacements this spring. The shipment never arrived and I could never get any response from them again. I recently attempted to email them again and that message was returned; the address had "permanent fatal errors".

I had very poor service on an order placed with Arkansas Berry and Plant also associated with Pense nurseries. An order for blueberries, grapevines, and blackberry plants failed to arrive at the expected time. Phone messages were left on an answering machine and emails were sent but I received not response until I attempted to cancel the order for being too late for dormancy. The order was then sent, less the blackberries. The cost of the blackberries was refunded but the shipping charge for them was retained. Further, when I issued a complaint about all the plants received being far beyond dormancy I was told that I could return them for a refund but not for shipping. I was very dissatisfied and as a result have advised others not to use either of the suppliers, Pense or Arkansas Berry.
