I first found this company on eBay listing as daylilyseed. Buyer seriously needs to be aware that they are massively overpriced and deceptive. I inquired about a listing for 25 high dollar daylilies for 395 dollars. I asked which varieties they were and they responded that they didn’t know but I couldn’t get them cheaper anywhere. When I responded asking them about the price for unnamed and not registered daylilies they would not respond. I don’t recommend buying anything from this supplier!

In my Google search for seeds from a specific daylily, I came across Daylily Paradise (Veychek Gardens & Nursery Inc.) website at: http://www.mailordergems.com/daylily-seeds-c61/ Prices seemed reasonable to what I have paid on eBay and Daylily Auction, but being on the cautious side, I looked for reviews and came across these on this site... not too encouraging :( However, I found an email address for them and sent "Joe" an email asking if they were still in business. I received a reply the same day acknowledging that they were indeed in business and still selling daylily seeds. So... to test the waters so to speak, I made a small order and within 24 hours I have received notice of shipment along with a tracking number. At this point in time, all has been very business like with good communication. I sent a second email and asked if the seeds were current 2019 seeds or from prior years and promptly received confirmation that the seeds were fresh 2019 seeds. I will update this posting upon receipt of my order, but so far all is good :) ....

I recently bought from them a batch of daylily seeds. It was quickly delivered, very well packed and each packet well labeled. According to my experience growing Hemerocallis seeds, these look great! Can't wait to start them. Thanks.

Just received my 100 daylilies and they were awesome. Large size, good root system, fresh dug and green. I am thrilled with the fast service, ordered Sun and recd. on Thurs. Now to wait and see the beautiful blooms next spring.

I saw ad for 1.99 seedlings of crosses of $50 to $200 plants. Catalog was slightly confusing to walk thru, but after thoroughly searching, I found that the price fluctuated with the quantity purchased. I ordered the 100 plants for 1.99 each. Plants arrived quickly and in great shape. Planted them immediatly. I counted 117 plants! All have taken off quickly with some already putting on additional fans.

Absolutely hands down my worst Internet buying experience. My experience with Veychek Nurseries is through EBay. I did a "buy it now" for 20 Stargazer lilies and 20 Siberia lilies. The order, including shipping, was $88.69. The order was placed March 12, 2007 and has yet to arrive. After a number of unanswered emails and calls to the nursery, I finally was able to rouse someone when I said on the answering machine that I was getting a lawyer. First Mr. Veychek claimed I had not paid (he never actually spoke to me--made a poor woman who works at the nursery talk to all his angry customers.) So I emailed the woman a copy of my PayPal receipt. The woman PROMISED that I would be reimbursed. Nothing. Then, he claimed (through the woman) that he had reimbursed me. So I asked her to provide me with a copy of the PayPal receipt, showing that he had sent me a payment. Nothing. I called and emailed numerous times. All to no avail. However, I did receive numerous email from other EBay buyers who had been taken for much more than I by Mr. Veychek. I guess misery loves company. All I can say is buyer beware!

I have called several times about two white lilac bushes I ordered. I have emailed Veycheck also. But to no avail no response. The two white lilac bushes I ordered were dead when they arrived. I even gave the shrubs the benefit of the doubt that they were alive and planted them. Still dead no leaves, nada. I am not a beginner gardner, I have been gardening for fifty years. I am really unhappy about Veycheck they way they do business. I am going to talk to the attorney general in our state and their state attorney general about the way they do business. I wish I had found this web site before I ordered I would not have ordered.

On June 20th, 2007, billiejpra added the following: I received a call from Veycheck today, telling me they didn't guarantee their plants or shrubs. So in other words I am out two lilac bushes plus my money. I was told by the rep that they didn't return calls because the customers always argued with them. Duh!!!!!! I asked for two new bushes or my money and she said she would refer my call to her employer. Other words I am out of luck! I was also told that how did they know they weren't getting ripped off by the customer complaning their plants or shrubs were dead. I guess they think it is okay to rip the customer off. I would strongly advise everyone not to do business with this company.

I ordered this a variety of their daylilies last spring (Stella D'Oro, Happy Returns) This year I added one called Rilly Frilly, one of their hard to find, speciality daylillies. So far my Stella's are full and have many buds (and a few blooms the past two days!!!!!!), the same goes for the Happy Returns, many buds, no bloom yet but in the next week or so. I am really excited about the Rilly Frilly one as it looks very promising. All of the plants I received were in top notch shape, ready to plant. I am going to add more to my collection this week, just not sure which one I am going to buy. I'll keep everyone up to date on my successes. Thanks

I ordered the "100 daylilies for $1.99 each" package. I emailed them asking them to delay shipping a few days because I would be out of town on business and didn't want the plants languishing in the central Texas heat. I never got a reply, but got a ship confirmation, so I cancelled my business trip and received the box very promptly (about 5 days after my order.) Immediately opened the box to find extremely yellowed leaves (and lots of dead leaves too) and mushy, rotten, broken root systems. They appear to me to have been dug a long time ago and stored in wet paper shreds. I gently unpacked, soaked in water about an hour while I raked and watered the bed, and started planting. Lost about 15 plants right off the bat because the roots were broken off from the stems before I removed them from the box (planted the roots anyway, so we'll see.) So far, another 5-8 are completely wilted and unhappy-looking, due to completely mushy roots. The other 79 (meaning I didn't get a full 100 plants!) are bouncing back-- getting green for sure. But they are really small single-fans, so I am quite sure they won't bloom this year and possibly not next. I would not advise ordering from Veycheck. What a shame, it's a great deal and the blooms look gorgeous on the website. Good luck to you.

I ordered the 100 bulbs @ $1.99 from this company and they shipped me 120! While the packaging wasn't the best I've ever seen (Bluestone holds that record), the bulbs came quickly and were in fairly good shape. I've gotten them all planted and they seem to be doing fairly well. Time will show how well they grow, but I have very good hopes.

I ordered the following from Veychek, online, on 4/17/06: (2) VARIEGATED ORNAMENTAL MISCANTHUS GRASS (10) Happy Returns Daylily (3) Redbud Tree (5) Butterfly Bush (3) Mimosa Tree (Silk Tree) On 4/18, they say they shipped via the means I picked to ship, which on any given order, should arrive at my door no later than 7 working days later. It is May 10, 2006 and I have received no response. They refuse to answer my emails. This morning, I am going to report them to my bank as fraudulent and attempt to get my money back. I paid almost $85 for the above. I will also report them to the BBB Online to get that started. We will see what happens. Its the principle of it, I hate being lied to and taken advantage of.

Back in February I ordered one white lilac, one pink lilac, two Chinese wisteria and 10 Japanese Larch from this company. My card was charged and my order confirmation said shipment was scheduled for early April. It is now 4/19 and I have not received my trees. All email attempts to contact go unanswered and the phone number given on their website kicks over to a fax machine after 6 rings every time I call. These trees were meant as a gift for my Father, and at this time it looks like I will be looking for an alternative gift, and contacting both my bank and the better business bureau if my trees don't show up by the end of the week.

On April 24th, 2006, Enchantra added the following: Well I still have not seen my trees or heard back from them via email or by phone. I certainly will not be making any future purchases from this company and definitely will let others know to avoid them. At this point I'm out $54.91, and that certainly does not make me a happy person. They have my money, but I don't have the product I was promised.
On April 25th, 2006, Enchantra changed the rating from negative to neutral and added the following: I changed my rating to neutral. My trees arrived today just as I was investigating the fraud reporting system for my bank. Why Neutral? The trees arrived three weeks after I was told they would. The trees while they look healthy it is obvious they have been bare rooted for a while. How can I tell? Bare rooted trees when kept in cool storage will start to sprout after a certain point. All my trees had started to sprout, and all the foliage is yellow due to a lack of light. This means they sprouted while in storage, as there is usually no means of trees getting light in storage. So I will be taking the time to get them potted up possibly tonight or tomorrow. I have them in a place where they will stay moist until I get to them in the next day. Now it is up to Mother Nature and some TLC to see if these trees pull through.

I ordered 10 Douglas Fir trees. I received Harper Fir trees. I am not familiar with this tree and inquired about the acceptability in my area. I received no response. I still do not know is the trees will survive the desert.

I ordered trees and grass from /vechek nursery in January and asked for a copy of the order by phone and e-mail I then added to the order on Feb. 6 th I had my credit card charged and again asked for a copy of my order. As of this date I have not yet received my copy and don't know if I will receive my order. I would hope that by posting this it will result in receiving a copy of my order as the trees and grasses i ordered appered to be a good deal. Dick B as Hidden Valley.

I'm going to give an overall positive rating to this company, although there was a minor not so positive issue worth noting: I ordered the "$100 daylily for $2.99" they promoted. First, I should note that at the time I ordered, I believe that they listed a link for 10 daylilies @ $1.99 each, but when you clicked the link they were $2.99 each. No biggie and I may be misremembering, but anyway. I ordered my 10 lilies for $29.99 + $9.95 to ship. They arrived faster than I expected and well packaged in a plastic bag with misted paper shreads. They sent a bonus 11th plant, which was a nice touch. The priority mail box was open on one side (had not been taped shut and the self-adhesive stuff must have failed in transit). What was NOT INCLUDED (maybe due to the partially open box) were the "complete planting instructions" as noted on their website. I promptly emailed the company requesting that I be emailed planting instructions so that I could get them in the ground properly asap (I've never grown daylilies before and didn't want to make an error). I never received any sort of reply at all-this was about 2 weeks ago now, so I had to piece together planting instructions from what I could find in a quick online search. One of the plants quickly withered (I suspect due to how/where I planted it, since I didn't really know what I was doing sans instructions). I have since moved the little guy, and I hope he recovers, but if not, at least I still have the 10 plants I ordered. The other plants seem to be hanging in there in our sweltering dry weather, and one has a tiny bud already (which I'm anxious to see bloom so that I'll know what mystery color the flower is). All in all, a positive experience with one strike against them for misleading website, lack of promised planting instructions, and no response to my email requesting planting instructions. I'm waiting to see how the plants fare before I decide if I would recommend them or if I would buy from them again.

I ordered daylillies from the special $2.99 group along with a friend. Shipment was fast and the merchandise was well packed. Extra lillies were included. We were both very pleased and can't wait to see them bloom.

I responded to their offer of $100 daylilies for $1.99 and really didn't have high expectations. (Especially while all my friends rolled their eyes at me all the time I explained the great deal I had purchased) This was in January, 2005. Now, it's the middle of April, my fat package arrived from Veycheck Gardens and Nursery. Nice clean, thick healthy bare root daylilies, ready to go out into the garden. I even got more than I bargained for. I ordered 10, they shipped 11 plants. Of course they are not named, but for the price paid and the fun my friends have had with me, I figure it's well worth it. I can't wait to report on the blooms I get and my fun-making friends reaction to that! Ron
