White structures are actually the sepals and not petals.
This wildflower does not have real petals. The white colored sepals are often tinged a wine color on the undersurface.

This structure of the Ten-Petal Anemone, Tenpetal Thimbleweed, Texas Anemone, Southern Anemone, Glade Flower (Anemone berlandieri) elongates after pollination (sometimes before the sepals have fallen); seeds are produced here and then dispersed usually by winds after they have dried (hence, the common name, "windflower")

The Ten-Petal Anemone, Tenpetal Thimbleweed, Texas Anemone, Southern Anemone, Glade Flower (Anemone berlandieri) scape is covered with hairs along its entire length which differientiates it from Carolina Anemone (Anemone caroliniana) whose stem is hairy above the leaves, but not below them.

Ten-Petal Anemone, Tenpetal Thimbleweed, Texas Anemone, Southern Anemone, Glade Flower (Anemone berlandieri) - the middle part of the bloom to which the pistils are attached is called the receptacal. It elongates after pollination forming the "thimble" from which the seeds are dispersed. The photo shows the nice sheen on the blooms.

Ten-Petal Anemone, Tenpetal Thimbleweed, Texas Anemone, Southern Anemone, Glade Flower (Anemone berlandieri) very tiny, flat achenes being dispersed from the "thimble"

The Ten-Petal Anemone, Tenpetal Thimbleweed, Texas Anemone, Southern Anemone, Glade Flower (Anemone berlandieri) achenes bursting forth from their chambers - They are held in the "thimble" by the green structures as well as a clear, shiny membrane (but my eyes could be deceiving me). The elliptical, flat, curve-beaked , 2.7-3.5 × 2.2-2.5 mm achenes themselves are not shiny being covered in fine hairs.
