Thanks to all for the honor of having this photo selected as today's "Bloom of the Day. This one of my favorite photos--not because of any artistic merit--but because it's a picture one of the most remarkable flowering trees I have ever just "happened" upon.
This tree now has some additional history of its own since I first saw it last Fall. A few people have contacted me since I posted this ph Kell wrote:
I knew exactly what tree it was Allan when I first saw your photo because I visit this tree every time I am in Mendocino. And I just happened to go again last week! It is always in bloom every time I go! I have seen 2 other sangs in Mendo but this is the only all red one I have found. I am so fond of it! Great photo BTW!
