Euphorbia Species Euphorbia heterophylla Click on the link to see more beautiful pictures in the plant files. I love this plant. It can become invasive but so easy to pull up seedlings. The more sun the brighter the red gets. A single guy 60 yrs old bought my neighbors home. This is growing in the flower bed. He said he loves it and won't get rid of it. He is not big into plants but loves this one. | Plants, Roots, Tubers and Bulbs | (PlantFiles) |

Species Iris Iris pseudacorus Yellow Flag Iris, Iris Pseudacorus, is recognizable by the raised line along the middle of the leaf. This is a delightful and historic plant that is also non native. This is the flower that is the French Emblem, the Fleur-de-Lis. The story is that Clovis, The first Christian king of the Franks, was retreating and needed to find a ford to cross a river to excape. When he saw the yellow flowers he knew that the water was shallow enough and that the roots of the plant made a very solid foundation. In Louisiana there is very mixed opinion of the plant. The flag has it on it, and the cultural heritage gives it an important point. The fear of it excluding native iris or altering the environment make it quite unpopular with the La Iris Societies. Several states have banned it as a noxious weed. It is a very good filter plant, often used in water treatment to remove metals from waste water. | Roots, Tubers and Bulbs | (PlantFiles) |

Ruellia Ruellia tweediana Ruellia tweediana Beware!!! This plant is highly invasive and grows from a 1/4 inch piece of root left in the ground. I suggest a 5 gallon bucket with water and mosquito dunks (has not killed my tadpoles or any plant) But does kill mosquito larvae. VERY INVASIVE!!! bad stuff but beautiful flowers of purple. It can be killed but not an organic killer unless you have access to dynamite...not sure dynamite is organic. | 'Purple Showers' | Plants, Cuttings | (PlantFiles) |
