I hope it is alright to post an identification request here,
as opposed to the i.d. thread. It seems bamboo is not
exactly the type of thing folks just happen to know right offhand.
This bamboo was transplanted from Muskogee, Oklahoma two
or three years ago. I'm almost certain this is it's third year at our
home.

It is thin, but strong, almost woody. Very yellow, golden?

Might be Phyllostachys aurea. Could you show a close-up of the culm, right where the branches begin?
