Wow great pics Dave & Met!!!

I went to check on my friends Blue Bird boxes yesterday and got a few pics worth sharing.

This Cedar Waxwing sat long enough for a quick shot...I was somewhat surprised to find it there!

and there were several Yellow-rumped Warblers around too...

I don't have the experience necessary to get good flight shots. So this was just a lucky photo. A woodstork bringing home a twig.

Hi Meth

Love the cardinals. I don't see many here.

And yes, that yellow-rumped warbler stops by to visit us about this time each year. Stays several weeks and is gone. This is his third year. I usually get a Phoebe too, but that one has not showed up yet.

Nice bluebirds, Nanny.

And Bsharf, that woodstork in flight is a great shot. Lucky shots are your reward for keeping your camera ready!

sharf, For flight pics I use the viewfinder and set my camera to fire bursts. I'm a lifelong upland hunter, so I have a pretty good sense of pointing at and leading birds. It takes some practice and a little luck never hurts.:)

Some beautiful shots today. BTW, I saw my first Scissor-tails today. Too far away for pics, but last year they often used the shepherd hook in my back yard as a perching place. They learned that when I mow the lawn there will be crippled bugs on the lawn.

Here's a shot of the Willet I got when in San Diego at Bosca Chica refuge. I have more but I am having problems uploading photos here lately.

Cute couple Lily!

Kip what a pretty bird the chaffinch is...great shot!

Met I was having problems too posting pics and it seems some of mine were to large. Even after resizing though they take a while.
