Odd..... I found this one and now I can access the old thread thru your link above but couldn't thru my home page or thru the forum...... strange.... .but I have noticed it does strange things when it starts getting way over 200 posts on a thread.
Thanks so much for starting a new one!
Does anyone on here have any experience with trying to propagate Camellias? I would love to hear from someone who has experience in this - what methods they used, what time of year is best, etc.
Thanks
Genna
Here you can click on here to look up Forest Hill Nurseries.

Which one is the one in your second post Cody? That looks very similar to the one I bought over the weekend...... just wondered how yours was labeled....
Genna
You welcome Genna,a dear friend told me the best time of the year is in June.
Wow - that Betty Sheffield doesn't really look like the one you have .... or do the other blooms look different? We tentatively id'd mine ..... as TC Thomas I beleive - but I have to check the name I wrote down...... The Betty Sheffield looks like it should be mostly color with some white. What I wish I had done was gotten the NAME OF THE BOOK that woman showed me the other day to help id the one I purchased......... it was BIG book filled with HUNDREDS of camellias !!
Genna
Wow - those are some beauties as well ... Thanks for sharing !!
Genna
Genna, that is what it is.I don't know why it doesn't look like the picture.
Sue,thanks for sharing the pictures.
Oooooh I love Little Babe.. she's a gem!!! Thanks for showing us that Calif_Sue!
Hi Genna!
Well niece, I'm off to hunt for more yellow camellias at another Lowe's in another town. Wish me luck that I could find at least 3 more!!!!
HI !! Boy I agree..... that Little Babe is a cutie too! I haven't seen a yellow camellia - but when I do I will HAVE to buy it! I LOVE yellow.....I love the japonica camellias with the tight blooms best.... Is there a yellow one with that type bloom?? Oh my..... I can see these camellias will get me into trouble...........................
Have fun looking!!
Genna
Genna, I didn't find any at this particular Lowe's :( So, I will return to the other Lowe and hope to persuade the Garden Manager to special order me a couple more of the Jury's Yellow. Bummer... if not I'll have to ask my nursery person to do so, and they charge more.
Gonna take a pic of the Jury's Yellow tag, once I replace the camera batteries!
As for Betty Scheffield, I have buds that are tri color and some in plain white or red. That's her beauty!! Think I've shown it before, she is my favorite.
Please do ..... I would love to see it ....
TheRoseGirl,
I hope your determination to get a forum for 'Camillias' works. Some really great photos here. I just recently purchased a 'Professor Sargent'. So to see your pictures so big and just full of blooms was a delight. You have my support for a new forum.
Good luck,
Pam
Jaye,i hope you can get more of the yellow ones.Let us know when you get more.
Thanks,Cody
I also like the second one that Sue post. It's different looking too.
Cody
Wow - guess I may not know WHAT I have until I see what the other blooms look like....
the pics are gorgeous!!
Thanks for the info.
Genna
You are very welcome Genna.
Cody
