I have some grasses and a bamboo that are new to me from last summer and want to know if I am supposed to cut them back or just trim out the brown stuff?
do I trim back carex and bamboo in late winter/spring?
I have toffe carex, foutain grass, various miscanthus, and karl foester in my yard. All of them get cut down in the spring. You will begin to see new growth as it starts to get warmer. Its is a little harder with the toffee carex, since it is supposed to be brown anyway, but it is a bright shade than the dead grass.
I don't have any experience with bamboo. Hopefully, someone else can give you some insight into what to do with your bamboo.
