December Daily Weather - Tis the Season!

Amelia Island, FL(Zone 9a)

Grrrr – I’m becoming an old hand at this “galloping crud”. I’m taking Emergen-C this time around, V-8, orange juice, cinnamon and garlic. I did the Airborne last time around. It didn’t get as bad as it could have. I figure I need to try the Emergen-C this time because my body isn’t used to it.

Marylyn – We’re getting your chilly front tonight YAY! My Caladiums are doing the “big bend to the left” LOL!
Rusty – I bet your kitchen smells really good right now – yummmmmmm
Celia- Isis is a cutie!
Pepper – You need to get on to your Dad about moving the “weather thingy”! {chuckle}
Marsue – That’s very interesting about the new fault line. I haven’t heard anything about it. I wish you weren’t going through this and I wish I could be there just to hold your hand.
Kelli – OMG – It’s beautiful! You have talent, you should sell. I’ve always wished I had the patience to stitch. I can barely put a button back on a shirt. My talent is cooking.

It’s Christmas – it should be COLD LOL!

Many (((((HUGS))))) for Mau. Thanks for the happy birthday!

Sharon, you aren't allowed to get sick anymore! LOL ☺ What a lovely rose.

Kelli, how very talented you are. It's beautiful.

Pepper, Isis is the clown in our family and we love her all the more for it.

Well, we spent 6 hours at the hospital with Darrell's mom last night. She had chest pains and pain near her liver. No heart attack, thank goodness. D didn't get much sleep but he says he's okay. We'll see when he gets home this afternoon. I went this morning and had to talk her into getting a stress test. She was all for it last night and today, dug in her heels. She's a tough one. D is there now, so I'll find out later what happened after I left.

Sunset tonight.

Thanks for the hugs, Kelli and Celia and for the hand-holding, Sharon. I can feel them now :o))

Kelli, that is a beautiful tablecloth. Your mother will cherish it! Is is a Christmas gift or have you already given it to her?

Sharon: lovely "frosty rose". I know just what you need: an "asafidity bag". My grandmother used to talk about having to wear one when she was a child. Evidently they smelled so bad that one would get well just to be able to remove the awful thing from around one's neck! I copied this info off the internet: "Asafetida, called asafidity in the South, is a chemical that is
semi-solid and indeed was worn, usually in a small cloth bag, around the
neck to ward off colds and flu. If there is any proof that it actually does
that, I don't know about it."

Pepper: it's cold here, too, and I don't like it . Kelli's temp of 64º this morning sounded pretty good to me!

Celia: pretty silhouette of the trees in the sunset.

Currently 38º and heading toward 26º tonight. BRRRR!

(Zone 7a)

Thanks, Mau. It has quite a bit of texture for no having no color.

Mr. Moon. Or Miss/Mrs., depending on your preference. ☺

I finally found out where the weather thingy went. My dad took it with him to a house he's working on to check the humidity in there.

It's in the 20s now and will get into the single digits over night. BRRRRR!!!!

Millersburg, PA(Zone 6b)

kelli - beautiful work on the embroidery.
Marsue, bless you, doing the things that needs to be done and sharing parts of your beloved husband's life with those who can benefit from it. It will be so hard for me to do that, if that time comes. I hope you can feel our arms around you and our prayers for peace, acceptance and God's grace upon you.

Another Early Dec day that was neither Dyson Dark nor Kiska Kold - guess it was just Gussie grey. LOL Misty rain and temps in the mid 30's. We got the garage doors fixed, chased the chill with a roaster full of sauerkraut and pork and mashed potatoes. = Even the garage door fixer.

Tomorrow we are going to live, love and laugh.

Cincinnati, OH(Zone 6b)

Kelli that's a first class and beautiful job!
Your Mom has a perfect gift coming and I see a Family Heirloom setting there.

Cold here today but little wind and a nice clear day so actually it felt pretty good out there.
Currently 28° (Wind Chill 19°)

Robyn just about finished the ceiling insulation today.
The new room is actually the most insulated place in the house now.
(80 year old solid brick houses are not very energy efficient)
We have to pull some wire before Robyn can finish the ceiling but it is already feeling toasty in there!
W/ just a small oil filled heater and the sunshine it was 68° out there this afternoon.
So a 30° difference from outside.

Oh yeah and she managed to get all the tools rounded up from the various hiding places in the rest of the house.
I foresee a few hours of reorganization coming.... LOL!
BUT I can finally move around and see a floor in the computer room!

Good morning!

It's finally calm, what a relief that is :-) It's mostly clear with thin clouds here and there, 29°F.

Sharon - hope you're feeling better :-)

(((((((((Marsue))))))))) - I wish you didn't have to go through this. But I guess that's what life is all about, dealing with whatever is thrown our way and coming out of it a stronger person. I think donating the clothes is a very kind and brave thing to do ... not sure I'd be able to do that .... You are in my thoughts and prayers constantly. ((((((((Another Hug)))))) ;-)

Kelli - the table cloth is gorgeous :-) I'm sure your mom will be thrilled :-)

Celia - hope your MIL is doing better today.

Today at 1:30 pm, high noon is around 1 pm here ....

Hope you all have a great day!

Still chilly, again! Well, my hip doing good not hurt yet...

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

Good morning! It's a grey, chilly day here. The wind was blowing hard last night, and now most of the leaves are off of our Mexican plum tree and the crepe myrtles. Some years they don't fall off until spring. I'm happy to have the free mulch. :-) The neighborhood oak trees haven't dropped many of their leaves yet. I need to watch for the bags of raked leaves when they do fall.

Celia, I thought that cat photo was a cloud at first glance. LOL

Rann, that sunset photo is gorgeous. :-)

Rusty, yummmm.... I think I gained a pound just looking at your photos!

Ric, wow, Robyn's been busy! :-) It's looking great!

Sharon, gorgeous sky. :-)

Kelli, the embroidery is BEAUTIFUL!!! You did a wonderful job. :-)

We have our monthly meeting here again tonight, so I'm off to tidy the house and make it baby proof.

Millersburg, PA(Zone 6b)

Hmmm, sounds like it is winter across the ole' USA and in Iceland and Romania. Our temps crawled up slowly to 29 degrees. Not too much wind so it was bearable. Usually is not this cold this time of the year. Our bitter temps have been occurring from Dec 15th to Jan 15th the last 2/3 years. I think -20 (F) was last year after Dec. 17th.

Stopped at our local Moose Club today for my Coca cola. Learned from a friend he got his walking papers as did 29 others at his Harrisburg, Pa. factory. He had been there 37 years and is understandably distressed. The factory makes airplane parts ( machine shop).

It was actually pretty nice outdoors in the Sun today.... bitter cold in the shade though.
This is Jan/Feb weather here... much too soon for this cold.
And w/o a snow cover very hard on the plants.... but death to the bugs soooooo.........

Been a busy day/getting packages in the main and on their way down; a plate in the kiln, and time now to be online and catch up.
Sunset was at 3:38, so it's been dark for some time now; it's harder to see the falling mix of snow and rain from these higher temps.
28°F/ calm, dark, with Gussie Grey most of the day.
kelli~your embroidery is beautiful; what a special gift for your mother.
rann~hope the holiday season is brighter than what's gone on for the past month or so. At least, the sky is doing all it can to bring color and joy to the winter.
Marsue~ what a heartbreaking job, but please keep posting your thoughts and day to day~ keeping you in my thoughts, daily.
MySharona~ very nice pic~ wish I had a get well soon remedy for you; how about good old vicks?
kwanjin~hope you've got some good news/MIL; how difficult to be going through this.
bp~ Hope the snow is what you want; sure makes for a beautiful landscape. Hawaii w/ Christmas decorations was very beautiful.
se_eds~sorry to hear of all the layoffs; very distressing for those involved. Dinner sounded great.
rusty~great fudge demo-can almost smell the chocolate. A 3 year old grandson; an age of fun and action:))
pepper23~rain, sleet, snow; the mail must be tended to:)))
henryr~great to know that it's nearly time to start thinking of reorganizing; the insulation is certainly doing a great job with 30° difference.
MarylynT_X~ free mulch in exchange for wind sounds like a good trade.
