zebra grass

im in zone 6-barely. i have zebra grass this year-is it hardy-or what do i do, winter is on the way. pampass grass
never made it!

Hi Dori,
I am barely in zone 6 as well. I have the Miscanthus sinensis 'zebrinus' and it does winter over for me. Mine are a few years old. True pampass grass is not hardy for us but I have grown in it pots. Erianthus, which is called hardy pampas, but not a pampass at all, is hardy for us. It is much taller, but the plumes are not as fluffy.

I am in zone 5 and have had zebra grass for several years in the back yard with no problems wintering it over. Good luck.
