I'm not much for dwarf conifers, but their collection looked interesting.

A traditional home garden was filled with perennial favorites including several clematis in full bloom on triangular towers.

Some of the beds we saw had very unusual combinations of plants.

Yes, that IS part of a row of banana trees torn up by the windy city in the summer, but wintering in the greenhouse.

hmmm. Some people jus have too much time on thier hands. (Do you suppose i could sneak one of them out under a coat???

I was fascinated by their sophisticated collection of Bonsai trees....

The two courtyards that flanked our building were filled with these gems. And rigged with alarms to prevent you from getting too close to their pedestals...

More stately gardens to fill you with "bloom" envy...

Don't you just love the combination of colors & plant textures in this bed of daylilies/lilies?

And yet MORE lilies..... It was hard to know where to look--the place was incredible!

And all of it set on a series of islands with water around keeping us cool...

And , finally, we ended back in the Lily Show. A full circle.

Thanks for the tour of the Botanical gardens Wanda! Looks like you and Sue had a good time.

It was a lovely weekend and I learned more about lilies. How could I lose?
