Are pinks a little scarce? Show us some pinks?

Delhi, IA

I look at my meager collection of iris and find yellows, purples, near blacks, whites and many blues____I wonder why_____ blue being my favorite color. And you can't find blue in lots of other flowers so here is where it shines!!!

I'm establishing a new bed this spring____Wanda, you are the culprit____after seeing all of your beauties and feel I need some pinks, peaches, corals or reds to round it out.

I have Superstition, Stepping Out and Immortality which I feel needs a pink near-by!! Any suggestions welcome. In the meantime show us some pink!!

Edited to add this was traded to me as Dauntless____but not sure. Do others of you photo between showers? He he____ anything for a flower photo!!

And one my Mom had back in the 70's____ NOID to me. I love it but want to intensify the color by half!! Along with Cumquat, that's the extent of my pinks.

Dauntless is historic & not really pink. Dave Hall in the Chicago area came up with the true pinks in the late 40s. It was thought that they would came from the orchid pinks, but not so. I can remember as a child pointing out a pink in the garden of a neighbor. (like he didn't know). check out some catalogs on line or ask people in your area the best pink to grow. Breedingwise it is a recessive.

Ok, I will try to get this to work. This is Polish Princess from Anna and David Cadd. This one is the one that got me hooked and the rest is history. Isn't it just lovely? Enjoy.

I haven't been all that interested in the pinks--I generally lean towards bolder colors but these are really gorgeous:)

Polish Princess is one I've been looking at lately. That is a great iris and photo.

Acqua di Rosa is such a rich pink in that photo. Ballycastle is so big and full, love it.
I also love Broken Record and Baboon Bottom. The pictures I've seen of Baboon Bottom never show that type of bold streaking, they look a bit more subtle and washed out...I really like the markings on yours....gotta go add it to my co-op list since its available:lol:
