Gingerbreadgirl, I have an iris that looks like your last one. Mine has a fragrance, does yours? I've never been able to identify it.

Durham, ME(Zone 3a)

The last one looks like Gypsy Queen. There are two kinds. A fake and a real kind. Superstition sells the real thing, I am not sure if the real thing has pbf but the fake does has pbf, is as tall as MTB. HIPS members are trying to decide if it has a scent. They think the fake might but are waiting for iris to open to make sure. The fake tends to bloom near end of iris season and the real version much earlier.

Mine I do not know if they are fake or the real version for I got one from Laurie and one from HIPS sale and neither have bloomed yet.

Oh Ginger, that is really interesting. Probably an historic of some sort.

Possibilities:
W.J. Fryer
Black and Gold.

Galax, VA

daltri_z5 she has a citris fragrance,30" tall and the fans at bottom have purple streaks. she has just bloomed. She was in a yard of a house 40+ years old.

Ginger,

I'll double check the specifics on mine tonight to get a more accurate comparison. I got mine from an old farm; they were going to be bulldozed.

Mainer, Gypsy Queen looks very close.

UPDATE: I have several clumps and the avg height is 36-40". Definite PBF. Fragrance, I can't decide. Some of the flowers seem to have a stronger scent than others. I'm wondering if it has to do with how long the flower has been open.

This is Throb, which opened on the second week I had visitors to my iris gardens. The first seven people that day wanted to order it, but I don't have enough yet to sell! One little boy announced that it was as bright as a school bus.

This is not a good pic. And something decided to munch on it but, this is Honey House. A typical Blyth with good substance.
