Cheap source of white plastic plant markers

Chevy Chase, MD(Zone 7a)

Do any of you know a cheap source for white plastic or vinyl plant markers -- the kind that are sort-of popsicle shaped, but pointed on one end? I am running out, and the local stores chart a ton for a piddling supply of them. I'd like to buy a big box of them so I don't have to think about getting any more for a few years.

Of course, now that Gita has bumped SallyG's post, I am reminded that I could get miniblinds. But I don't have any right now, and I don't want to go hunting.

Happy, I have bought them for a pittance on ebay in the past, if that is of any help.

Ebay sounds like a great idea. you'd think if you can get to a farm supply type store they'd sell them cheap.

Happy, any of the places that sell supplies to landscape companies would have them.

We've ordered from Gemplers and been pleased.

Thanks! That is just what I am looking for. Hart to the rescue (and Wrightie too!). Now I just have to figure out which ones don't get brittle.

and charge too much s/h!!
ALL - please check out the 2 co-ops that are ending tomorrow...one is for markers the other for tags that wrap - i.e. use for Plumies etc.

Thanks! I'm definitely doing those co-ops, and I use Eon markers too, but I would really find some simple white markers handy as well.

Happy! Where have you been??????

I thought the whole World was using cut-up mini blinds for plant markers!!!!

Cheap! Available! and--maybe even at some windows in your own house. Don't you have any that need shortening????? If not--buy the smallest, cheapest vinyl mini-blind and you will have more than you van ever use.
Cut them up[ to any length--cut a point on one end, and--Voila! A plant marker!!!!

For small spaces--like a cell-pack, I cut mine in half lengthwise. Easy to write on with a permanent marker--easy to wipe off (Goo Gone), and re-usable.

See??????

Gita: I know the miniblinds are great -- I used to use them -- but I don't have any in our house now and I don't have time right now to go looking for a good deal on them. Sigh.

Holly--you don't have to "go looking".....HD, Lowes, Wallmart, Target---they all sell mini-blinds. Just pick one up, say the smallest one, and snip-snip away.....

My 64 inch long(Standard) by 30 inch wide were 4 bucks. Could easily make ~250 labels.

I know -- but I don't often go to HD, Lowes, Wallmart or Target -- the closest is 20 minutes away, and my life is ridiculously busy. I don't want to drive there just for miniblinds, if there was a source on-line. Anyway, no worries, and thanks for the suggestions.

Try this link. I've bought from them before. They're a good company.

Thanks! Hart recommended the same company -- a good sign!
