I really had only bought a few in prior years and only from local stores (wm, lowe's, HD) and there wasn't much of a selection and the bulbs weren't the best looking I've ever seen.

I'd look at the co-op offerings and think about the flat rate box and try to make the order worth it. I think that is called false logic ;)

Hope someone else confesses--it is supposed to be good for the soul ya know!

I've done that "how many can fit in the box" thing, too! It feels good not to be alone with our perverse thinking.

Yeah, none of my friends are into gardening or plants. DG is great for allowing me to wallow in all of the gardeing talks and topics without people thinking I'm "overly enthusiastic" about it:lol:

Of course, they don't have a clue how many bulbs I've purchase either...DG is my outlet for retail therapy.

My list could be long and honestly, I don't remember them all. So it will be like "surprise!" when I open some of the boxes (notices the plural form ;) of box ) and only then will I recall all of the winter's ordering work.

The co-ops were a good idea (I say, oh yeah, I'll just get a couple) gone bad for me. Bad as in how many boxes I have coming, and that doesn't even count any other places of which I have ordered.

last week I went to the local garden center (someone should have warned me ahead of time that the lily bulbs were in) to get a grow light and what jumped into my basket? Two bags of lily bulbs, so I had to pot them up right away and under the lights they went.

So you see, your sickness is not rare, but it is incurable....unless someone knows something I don't ;)

And remember, there are a whole lot worse illnesses out than being a lily addict ;)

Hmmm. If you kept a running list, Magnolia, like I do it would be easy to see what you have. (That's what I orginally got a pc for - a data collector.) I haven't gotten any bulbs this spring, but I did last fall - like your Tinos-Thank you!, and I have acquired plenty of seed since last fall that I have/will be planting, and a few have continued to sprout from 2006 planting. Seriously, I think what's happening here is that it's easier to forget what I have, what I bought because once I start thinking, I have to logically go to the next step which is, where the heck am I going to find a place for all of this??

LOL Magnolia, I just sent Maxine a note and as she has the same problem (as do I) and I said it was like "going to the store when you're hungry" - something they say you should never do. But, gives us an excuse to make more beds, right??

Just removing 14 Butterfly Bushes gave me room, last year, for Japanese irises so now I wonder what will leave the property to make room for all my orders.

What did you do with all of youe butterfly bushes??? I love those!! heheh

They went to the chipper and then into the compost pile. They don't transplant well so don't feel as though you lost anything.

Don't forget the gov. handout coming $1200 per couple and $300 per child :*) Help support your lily growers!

THAT 300.00 is going to pay for last years! lol

I just caved in five minutes ago and ordered 6 "Lesotho" and 6 "Conca d'Or" from B&D. I love yellow OT's and last fall, B&D substituted "Space Mountain" because they were sold out of "Conca d'Or". Luckily my friend Magnolia sweetly came to the rescue and sent me an Altaville and a Conca d'Or but I need more!!!

Hokey Smokes, I just looked at that list of mine... I'm going to be busier than a gopher come this spring. I thought I had restrained myself. LOL Odie Well... Weed a bit, plant a bulb or 10, weed a bit, plant another bulb or 15.... :) Oh, to be able to play in the dirt!!!

I'm lucky in that my yard is small enough that I am NOT FORCED to buy a lot of lilies to feed my addiction. However, there are all those little seedlings sitting around that grow bigger and will need a place. So, that said, I had to FORCE myself, LITERALLY to be good this year. So this is what I have on order (tapping my foot waiting for arrival)....

I probably won't be planting all of the ones I have coming at my house. I will take some over to my in-laws house and plant them there. They do so enjoy waiting to see them bloom. :)

No sooner than I had ordered these lilies at great expense from The Lily Nook, I found that Cascade Bulb and Seed carried George Slate (just a few miles from me). Drat!
