hibs for week of 01/20/08 to 01/26/08

I like Antique Treasure and Amazon Queen they are two of my favorites. I lost my Amazon Queen last year in a freeze and I do plan to replace it this spring. Does it produce much pollen for you?

Carlos - the first one looks like it may be have some Rosalind somewhere in it's line - yellow veins & coloring makes me think of it. They are both beauties!

Ardesia - I completely understand - I'd be the very same way - give me flowers & I can do an online siteseeing tour anyday! lol

Gene - I've never really paid attention to Amazon Queen's pollen production - I'll have to pay attention next time. I'm pretty much a novice at this so I've never attempted doing what you pros do with the crossing - not to mention I don't think I'd have the right conditions (temp & humidity wise) to accomplish this. I'll let you know the next time she blooms - she's got very small buds on right now - it'll probably be a couple weeks before they open but I'll d-mail you to let you know.

PS...Hines does NOT sell to HD in Florida. Don't know the reason for that, but my Madeline and Standing Ovation, from HD, are supplied out of a nursery in Miami.

I take 80% of my pics at 11:30 at night, when I get home from work. Makes for a much better showcase of the flower.
But then again, some of the day pics standout too, lol.

Wow cat - LOVE the pictures - Esp Ali Uli-2. If nothing else - if you ever wanted a back up career - you can certainly do photography. The nurseries can hire you for their websites or catalog!
