The December issue of Fine Garden has a nice article on ornamental grasses. One that I had never heard of before, Berkely Sedge, grows in full sun and full shade! I can think of several shady places that I would consider trying this in.
Don't spend the $7 for the magazine if you don't have a subscription, but if you are in the library, it is worth a look. I checked out the website, but I didn't see this particular article.

Thanks for the info.
I had not seen this plant but will get one (or more!)
; )
Carex tumulicola - Berkeley Sedge - This lush green sedge is one of the best plants for creating a natural meadow look, growing to 2 feet tall and as wide. Berkeley Sedge will grow in moderately dry conditions but can also be planted in wet soil or in shallow water, and can be planted in full sun or shade - good as an understory planting. Cut the foliage back once or twice a year to clean up older growth and prevent it from seeding out.
Thanks,
Ray
Looks like it's not hardy above zone 8.... Ratz.
