Diefenbach???

I bought a beautiful philodendron-like house plant for my wife's birthday at a florist shop. The sales lady didn't know much about it or even how to pronounce the name. She pronounced it Defenback. I don't own a digital camera or I would include a photo. Is this enough information for you experts out there to tell me something about this plant?

I think you are referring to Dieffenbachia or Dumbcane.
