Beth - Your livestock fencing arbors, tunnels, and trellises are outstanding! Truly!!!

And you've got a wonderful collection of MGs! Your Gypsy Bride is lovely and this one really caught my eye....... Whew!

I can't wait to see what your I. aquatica blooms look like! I'm kinda hooked on container water gardening along with this newfound love for MGs!!!

Ya got it going on there in your little piece of paradise! :-)

scio, oregon, OR(Zone 8a)

Thanks, Becky. The garden is really time consuming...just ask my husband!

Here is my first Heavenly Blue, last week of August, meaning it has six weeks to make seeds before the first frost!

Beautiful blue Beth. I missed seeing Heavenly Blue this season.
Still one of my favorites.

Chewelah, WA(Zone 5a)

THAT's what my blue MGs are; I remember now it did say Heavenly Blue on the seed packet! Thanks for the memory jog. They really are lovely.

Beth - Your blooms are absolutely stunning! And I just love the look of your Gypsy Bride blooms! (Please, please add me on the list to trade some seeds for that one!!!)

This is a strange little shoot that Ipomoea aquatica has in the junction of the leaves and main stem. All of them have two leaves and what looks like a whitish hair or root?

scio, oregon, OR(Zone 8a)

I cut one of these off and planted it to see if it will grow. It may be a way of asexual reproduction for this plant.

The little hair could be another leaf forming....I'm not sure. I know this plant easily roots from cuttings, so I wonder if this "mini" plant will grow.

Netcong, NJ(Zone 5b)

Beth - Nice Blue Star from dark seeds(?!)...

The Ipomoea aquatica may be trying to produce flowerbuds on those axial stems...

Beth, gorgeous blooms. Love them all.

Chewelah, WA(Zone 5a)

Ooooohh, please, please save me some of those Chachamaru seeds! They are just beautiful! My goodness, do you have one each of everything? So many lovely flowers! I can't imagine how you manage to remember all their names.

Mesilla Park, NM

Beth, they are gorgeous, add me to your trading list also.. I'd love some Gypsy Bride seed!

scio, oregon, OR(Zone 8a)

The blue star were from dark seeds, but I was expecting Flying Saucers like the package advertised. I'll have lots of Gypsy Bride and Chachamaru seeds to trade, no problem!

Jasper, AR(Zone 7a)

I am interested in how you grew indoors over the winter. What exposure did you have, did you use lights? etc.

scio, oregon, OR(Zone 8a)

I do have them in a south facing window, but we don't have a lot of sunlight in Oregon in the winter. I use a 400W High Pressure Sodium Light (HPS) which is in the yellow spectrum and good for blooming. I also have a 1000W Metal Halide (MH) light in the back room which is good for general growing. The HPS is supposed to encourage blooming more than the MH light, but morning glories are so easy to grow that in reality they will bloom just fine under either light.

Mt. fuji's stay open all day and sometimes 2 days.
The purpleish one in the front is from yesterday (still open the next day). The bluer ones have recently opened this morning.
