I don't like to judge a daylily until I see it blooming in a clump. Somehow seeing one or two single blooms just does not give you a very good idea of what the plant is capable of doing. That's why I really like these clump threads. Some daylilies that I thought were just so-so ones, became wow ones after they had a few years to grow. Lollapalossa is one I'm finding so much more impressive this year beacause it is opening multiple blooms.

Oh, and this newbie just loves looking at these clump shots. My daylilies are all babies, nice to know what they are capable of doing. That, and they are just sooo pretty!

I went to our local formal gardens last night, and was just blown away by the HUGE clumps they had! I've definitely been enjoying the flowers that have been blooming a few at a time in my garden, and the close up daily bloom shots. But, I especially love the clump shots to see what mature plants look like. Plus it lets me daydream about my babies that will eventually get big, too. Hehe. :)

Love looking at this thread. Clumps are always so much more impressive. It takes time for them to mature but it is worth it!

Elegant Candy looks like a much nicer color than Strawberry Candy. Does it perform as well?
