June 28 Blooms

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I bought this is a pot last fall at Wal-Mart for $2.50....planted it and wait to see if it survived our Maine winter. This is what I saw yesterday when I went out to see how it was doing.
The tags says......"Buff Pixie"

Not only have I enjoyed all of these lilies, but I am also here to enable mgh.
mgh, here is a link to Buggy Crazy, how did I ever do it without her?? Her site will be set and ready to go August 1st, it sounds like, for the fall harvest ;0)

Thanks for all the nice comments about Red Dutch, it came from Lily Nook. It seems to be a bit prone to botrytis ~ in my garden anyway. But it's an important part of my 'family garden' so I stay on top of it and spray with fungicide.

The Hibscus is Lord Baltimore and Southern Belle is coming along. What a great way to fill in for some late season color!

Lovely photo of Buff! Here is 'White Henryi', one of my favorites.

Silk Road. Notice the large tree branch in the background. Sure glad it missed my lilies.

Moby, you need to get Blue River II hibiscus. It looks like huge white moons when it blooms! :) Love hibiscuses, but unfortunately, so do Japanese beetles....

Pard, I'm glad to know your Dot Com is being weird too. You have some of the best lilies I've seen! :) I'm trying to be more selective in my choices... and I keep repeating the lily mantra, "Only buy lilies from people that live and breath lilies."

However, two of my favorite lily blooms this week came from Dutch Gardens... (don't throw eggs, please) I really like the Orienpets Satisfaction and Red Hot. Now, whether they are rip offs of other Orienpets, I don't know, but I love their blooms.. :)

Susan, I like that Shocking. I've been wanting it for a while... Where did you get it? All your lilies are wonderful! I can't wait for my Godzilla to open.. :) (I keep singing "go go Godzilla" to myself every time I see a picture of it. :) ) LOL

I planted my 'Gozilla' next to the deck and it is towering over the rail, so easy for me to see! It's nowhere near bloom time for that one though. It's looking good.
'Red Hot', Ticker, I don't think is a rip off. It's lovely, isn't it? I have a few clusters of them. I tried 'Satisfaction' too, from John Scheepers. Hasn't bloomed yet, but you've got me curious now....
But you all know who my favorite sellers are, "the ones who live and breathe lilies" ;0) And I mean that ;0)

I believe it's possible to get good lilies from some of those glossy-catalog-companies ~ you just can't bank on it.

Here's Macarena
(does that change the tune in you head, Ticker?)

Ticker, I can't remember where Shocking came from, but maybe Jung. That's were I got my American Series ones from and think it came the same time. It has not done real well for me Got froze to the ground 3 years ago and is just recovering..

Lisbon, IA(Zone 5a)

Well, it's very pretty and I hope it blooms for you for many years to come. :)
