Is this a philodendron?

I found this beauty at Wal-Mart. It's marked "Philodendron", but would anyone here know which variety? Sorry about the dark pic, the camera batteries need charging!

This one is similar to those. I have one of those too, and the leaves on the two look different. Thanks for the link though.

It sorta looks like a Philo but then again, I'm not too sure it is. Can you hold the leaves out of the way and take a photo of the stems? It looks like a plant that I have called Homalomena 'Emerald Gem'. Check out these photo's in Plant Files:

Thanks for the link, plantladylin. That's exactly what this plant is. The leaves look just like the plants in the pics in that link.

You are quite welcome Candace .... I thought it looked just like my Emerald Gem Plant!

Hi Elizabeth,

Yes, that's a 'mother-in-laws" tongue" plant in the background of that pic. The longest stems on it are almost three feet tall. I found that one at Wal-Mart last year.

I thought it was. I used to have one when I lived in Alabama. I lost it along with all my other plants. I'd love to have one again. I'll have to check and see if they do good here in West Texas! Yours must love oshkosh. it's beautiful.
Elizabeth
