Carex pansa or Carex praegracilis? Difference?

Palo Alto, CA

Several growers are saying they are the same. Is there really a difference (and does anyone care?)

Great South Bay, Lon, NY(Zone 7a)

According to Rick Darke, they are similar, but not the same critter. In common names, one is Western Meadow Sedge, and the other is California Meadow Sedge (C. pansa). C. praegracilis is taller, by 50%, and the species is hardier, by one zone.
