Hi Gary, jmorth,
Glad to see you back on the wild world web of gardening. And thank you, jmorth for sharing the useful information on growing this little darling.
I water my potted plant in a regular basic (beat you to it this AM, Gary). But with my Gloriosa as with Plummies, I water them only when the top several inches of soil is dry. The drough in the SE is pretty severe this spring. So far we're more than 15" of rains behind the average. Yikes!
Keep pic. rolling. I'll be looking forward to see how we're doing with our most favarite plants.

All 5 of my tubers did finally come up, two are making flowers buds. Let's see yours!!!!

Kim Those look great. So far only Two here have come up. one looks really good and the other is just hanging on. If we dodn't get some rain and a lot of it I think my well will go dry. We were under a severe thunderstorm warning last pm, the sky turned dark, thunder and lightly with wind and I think I count 38 rain drops. Hoping for rain.

Thanks Gary, I'm very pleased with TON's products. I'm sure to send more order in the future. My 5th tuber took its sweeeeet time to come up. That lead me to think it wasn't coming at all. But there goes, now I understand jmorth's take about its "internal trigger mechanism rather than environmental stimuli". Cool J.
The drought has been so severe, many of my neighboring areas are under mandatory water restriction here. Our Lakes too are 3-4' below average level at this time of year. Yesterday it rained 1st time in weeks, and it was just localized, hits or miss kind a rains. I hope there will be some relieve soon.

Kim.
Rain glorious Rain. First time in weeks here. In the form of severe thunderstorms but it's still rain. Hey my Gloriosa has 2 buds. I really need to take a couple of photos and post.

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Well, what are you waiting for? (grab my Camera and heading out ....).
Yes, Gary, that thunderstorm we've had the other day was very much welcomed. This has been a much difficult year.

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Gary,
You must have sent the rain our way!!!! It was great. A good soaking rain, glorious indeed.
I snapped a couple shots of the blooms outside. Glory isn't in its full swing yet ~ but is promising. 'Til then, here is Stargazer welcoming the rain.

Gary..how did your "Gloriosa Lilys" do..Mine are in just morning sun as they don't like hot afternoon sun here...Jeanne

Jeanne,
Those are lovely. Mine are still climbing and one has two small buds. I bet they would look great with one of you stunning clematis growing with them.

Gary

Willis, TX(Zone 8b)

I put one in the back with my clematis and if it grows forward too much burns from the sun...I think Clematis would choke 'em out eventually...

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Oh how cool is that? Jeanne, long time "no type" lol. Beautiful Glory Lily. Do you plant GL. and Clem. in the same pot? Or is Glory hardy in your zone?

Willis, TX(Zone 8b)

My gloriosa Lilies are in the ground..they are hardy here..I plant them in morning sun and afternoon shade..otherwise the leaves burn here in my Part of Texas...Jeanne

Susan,
Any lucks with yours? Undoubtedly Rebeccanne's must be in full glory by now sine she's same zone as JeanneTx.

Bartlesville, OK(Zone 6a)

Lily, if you are talking to me....no, nothing.

I did move it outside to a pot so it can rot in private. LOL

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Oh, Susan! I'm sorry about that. Hmmmm, wondered what has gone wrong. Did you change the potting medium?
Kim

Bartlesville, OK(Zone 6a)

I think the bulb was no good when I got it. I already looked to have a problem. I got two of them, the other one is rotting in public on top of the plant stand.

Sorry, but don't give up. I've noticed Glory Lily years ago. Bought one in full bloom. I managed to have killed it. Then several years later I tried the tubers, no success then. As I learn more about gardening, and this early winter I decided I'm gonna try them again ~ with success.

Andrews, NC(Zone 6a)

Finally, a Bloom. It was supose to be solid red but it is still beautiful all the same.
