Share your early bloomers

Ms. Munchken,
I wonder if that "April Jewel" isn't really "Smoke Rings". I have "Smoke Rings" but no photos but the one in plant files looks like mine. Check out:

Mulberry Echo. (This one is labeled Mulberry Echo but it isn't that one.)

This is Margie's Mariposa Skies, do you think that this one might be it too?

Here is my first bloom - it opened during the night. Don't know the name. It was in a package of mixed colors that I got at Home Depot. I have a number of Schreiner's rhizomes planted around the yard but unless I locate the notebook in which I wrote down the placement and all the names, I'm not going to have a clue of who they are either.

Pretty Weegy, A lot of rebloomers there.

Mary that dark iris is very pretty in that field of blue flowers. What are the blue flowers?

Phoenix, AZ(Zone 9a)

They are all so pretty....Weegy - I especially like Mulberry Echo!

Mary - is that blue plant a verbena?

Thank you! I am so excited for the next few weeks and the peak bloom season!
I'm done weeding the garden and we've got Roundup down ready for those pesky boogers!
I just love spring! How about you??!!?

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

I might as well add my Louisiana's that are blooming this week!

Wow, Weegy. You must be about 2 weeks ahead of us here. I do love the LAs.

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

We had some really nice weather for a few days and I think the flowers are a little confused. Not the same today, cold and windy.
Thanks my friend Doss!

West Central, WI(Zone 4a)

My first of anything bloomed yesterday! We have had very warm temps for the past few days (70's), but will go below freezing again this weekend. What do I do to not loose these beauties? I noticed on Sunday that they were trying to push through the mulch, so I pulled it back and never expected to find this reward the next morning.

These are Iris reticulata Harmony that I got in the Van Englen Co-op last Fall.

edited to correctly identify the iris

Gee Marie - I don't know. Hopefully someone will come along and answer your question. I'm zone impaired for the cold regions. Very pretty though!

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

Marie--love your little iris! I just have crocus and a few dwarf daffodils starting to bloom.

After looking at the plant files, I'm thinking my Night Edition is not Night Edition. Anyone got any ideas what it might be? And more digging in the plant files shows me that Mulberry Echo is mismarked. Yikes. If anyone recognizes these 2, let me know.

Here's Night Edition from the plant files...

Well, Weegy, your as bad of mom as me. I've got Conjuration mixed up with Wing Commander, and Epicenter mixed up with I don't know, and who knows what else..

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

No honest Sandy, it wasn't me. Those were the names on them when I got them. I've been selling mismarked too and that's not good. I guess I better watch more closely.

MrsJ - you are way ahead of us. Are those nasturciums in your iris bed?

These 2 bloomed yesterday....

Oops, Master Plan is a little blurry, let me try this again.

Sorry, not much better. Will get another shot and post a better one.

Hi Doss!

Those are hollyhocks!!! I am in the process of thinning them out - they went crazy on me!

audrey

Stanford, CA(Zone 9b)

Louise, I'm sure that those two iris aren't the same. The second one has gold on it's falls that the first one doesn't have.

I sure wish that hollyhocks would go crazy on me. Here they all get rust. Yuchhh...

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

Your iris are all so lovely. Sigh. I have some green growth now--does that count? Looks like 4 new dwarfs i planted in September didn't make. I need to learn not to plant iris so late .

Stanford, CA(Zone 9b)

Of course green counts! This is a Ghio PCI

You know, I wish I could be rich and have a house near you so I could enjoy spring iris blooms more than once a year. Put that on my list. "Must buy houses in multiple zones when I win the Lottery" :)

Stanford, CA(Zone 9b)

I wish you could too Wanda. You could be a jet setter garden designer. I believe that this is "Delirium".

It's an IB for you cold weather fans

Thanks Doss, those 2 just looked so very similar.
Wanda, please move out here! Bring your irises too, they'll bloom sooner here!!! LOL!

Phoenix, AZ

Love seeing all of your iris, my favorite flower from childhood to .... e'hem
My mom would send me to grade school on my bike with my basket filled with a very large bouquet of her iris for my teacher.

Here is my one an only this year ... I think. Moved to a new home and had to relocate some est. iris. simple yellow iris... I'm planning on expanding on my collection!

Stanford, CA(Zone 9b)

What fun to have some room to grow some new ones. That's not such a simple yellow one. The banding on the falls is very pretty.
