Should I be cutting my blue fescua back? I haven't before and am new to grasses.
Thanks for the advice!
cut back blue fescua?
I cut mine back at least twice a year; once in late winter, before it starts to grow again, and again after it blooms and starts to fade, in mid to late summer. It really benefits, and grows back thicker than before.
Thanks donn! I'll get out there this weekend. :)
I wouldn't do them now. In my zone, they're still looking good, and as long as the weather stays temperate, they're growing. When my winter finally hits, they'll start to go dormant. In late winter, when they are about to come out of dormancy, I trim them back.
I think my zone is a little different. I noticed all the grasses on my way to work were just trimmed this week. I just wasn't sure if that went for blue fescua. I'll try it and see what happens.
