Mexican feather grass

Kilmarnock, VA(Zone 7a)

I have planted a lot of Mexican feather grass (stipa tenuissima) this year. Does this grass get cut back in the fall or late winter or not get cut back at all. I tried to Google it to find out but there was no answer to this question. I'm sure the experts here can probably let me know what to do. Thanks for your help. Betty

The taxonomists have renamed it Nassella tenuissima now.

In cooler climates like ours, it's a semi-evergreen cool-season grass, but if you had a hot summer, it can go dormant and turn brown. I cut mine back in late winter, and it puts on a lovely new flush of foliage. I intended to try an early fall haircut this year, as I do with Fescues, but I never got around to it.
