Saccharum arundinaceum
It's barely hardy here where I am. I almost dug it up a few years ago when it looked like it only had a few blades still alive in spring. It sure is nice when it does well though. Looks a lot like ravenna grass (which it's planted next to).

Saccharum arundinaceum looks like Ravenna Grass because it;s closely related. Rav has recently been moved from the Erianthus genus to the Saccharum genus. Gotta love those taxonomists!
I have a small clump of S. arundinaceum that I got from PDN this spring, and is about 4 ft high right now..... It would have been bigger if it wouldn't have been cut back for shipping... Hopefully it will get some size to it next year....
