Clematis 'My Angel' - which in a recent thread "we" as a group decided the plant was incorrectly labled, however now that I see red buds (heart-shaped), I'm thinking it could be the correct plant.

You know, I usually like different colored foliage, but I'm not so sure about this one LOL

Rock Island, IL(Zone 5b)

Here's these red buds. Sorry, I got a little ahead of myself:

PRETTY STRIKING! (none the less)

Here's the first of actually a few photos of a Sweet Autumn climbing into my Red Maple. I took this photo to impress you guys witht the Rose of Sharon blooming, but now the photo doens't show the clematis well. (I'll show you a better photo soon).

Thanks -

Very beautiful.

Dax, I noticed your post on the other thread, it's pretty cool- can you give a couple tips for how you attached the pieces around the post?

Sorry if this is considered hijacking Kenton :-)

Thanks!
Lynn

I'll make a new thread.

I thought it would be nice to show you a view of my landscape, or at least a portion of it. Thanks.

Montana rubens - that's what I call it anyway.

Ain't vines grand? That sweet autumn is a monster!

Rock Island, IL(Zone 5b)

I've transplanted passionflowers just about everywhere and only a month ago - I'm hoping even though invasively 'weedy' - they'll stick around. (They're rare here).

They're fun, sure.

Thanks! It's a winner, I like it too.

Here's yet another view of two views I've already posted. Of course these are in no particular order:)

The passionflower is actually covering a 9 to 10 foot Rhodie:

I'll try to hurry - just a few left. Don't want to "hog" THE thread.

'Polish Spirit' has spirit!

Rock Island, IL(Zone 5b)

Here's that view I wanted to show you. It's so nice walking under. You gotta love it, or am I right??

Last one, kind of boring:

A (nother) 'Sweet Autumn' with the trunk of a Dawn Redwood. This plant actually two, fills the chain link between my only neighbor and myself (and it's the driveway that this seperates).

Have a nice day - beautiful here anyway!

Take care.

I'm back! I've been on vacation and am now getting caught up with various posts at D.G.

I have ALL my Morning Glories growing in pots on my deck (NOT in my yard) because they ALL re-seed heavily! I got all my Japanese M.G. seeds through trades, so I do not know if 'Fujino Momo' is part of Park's 'Mt Fuji' mix. It probably wouldn't hurt to e-mail Park Seed Co. to find out.

Kenton, I'll go out and measure the width of the M.G.'s and let you know.

Is the picotee recuved back & hidden? I don't know, I'll have to check it out in the a.m.

Clematis, "Carnaby" is growing in shade. Otherwise, its delicate colors would get bleached out from the sun.

baja220: Gorgeous Clematis flowers! I don't know if my "Will Goodwin" made it this year. I keep watering where it is suppose to be growing in the hopes that it will return next year. Do you get a lot of Clematis Wilt with this one?

Dax: Great pictures! Do you have a problem with "Sweet Autumn" Clematis & Passiflora incarnata re-seeding itself all over your garden in your growing zone? I do!! In my garden, it's taking over everything!

Rock Island, IL(Zone 5b)

I do with the passy Shirley, but it's only on it's second year. No seeds, just underground runners. Some that have popped up in the middle of my yard for example, 20 feet from it's nearest counterpart. It's a wild beast, no doubt about that. My original seedling (one seed) is now producing plants in the hundreds and only two years in the making. Whoever I pawn this house onto next is in for a mildly shocking or hopefully heartwelcoming feeling for this guy!

Thanks for your info on the morning glories. Looks like I'll either accept them or forget them!

Hope you had a nice vacation.

Lynn I have 4 clematis coming in the mail soon!!! Florida Sieboldii, Avante Garde, Sir Trevor Lawrence & Ruby Glow.
Now Dax where did you get the one listed as "My Angel"??? I am diving in head first to this clematis addiction. Not sure how I am going to explain all the various plants being delivered between now and mid October.

Mesa, AZ(Zone 9b)

Marie! You really need a 12 step program LOL

Tolleson, AZ(Zone 9a)

I have one.
1. Join Dave's
2. Start exploring different forums
3. Go to a plant swap
4. Make new Friends
5. Make sure they are completely addicted too.
6. Visit nurseries only when you have plant buddies along.
7. 6 is to make sure they encourage you to buy! buy! buy!!
8. When you get home tell you HD that it was your plant buddies fault. (they insisted you need to add this great plant to your garden)
9. When Dh is still not speaking to you (Did you really need 20 more plants?) explain again how much more valuable your house will be with a big beautiful lush garden.
10. They were only $3.99 each
11. Wow they were on sale
12. You want me to be happy right???
I actuall probably have more steps but this is working for the time being. :o)

LOL What this thread has turned into. Yeah, just simple posts for me, no pergola.

Marie there's a lot more work that has to happen around here outside before I'm back in the garage working on stuff, no time soon, sorry. Maybe someone else in the area can help you out?

Mortaring rocks on a retention wall and working on a raised bed's faux rock retention wall today. I am getting the itch to get into the garage though, especially to make that "I'm gonna miss that man sign" LOL I also want to cut out forms to make cement #'s (I'm going to make a house # rock), we haven't had house #'s for a year, delivery guys hate me :-( Oh well.

Tolleson, AZ(Zone 9a)

Lol I admire you and I was just kidding. I am going to see how it goes with the 4 clematis I just bought and maybe order my angel next in spring. (OK so maybe I will not wait). The thought of me actually planning before planting is just too scary!!( I would not be me then) I will just put my vines in and then figure out what they can climb on.
I like the idea of the "I'm gonna miss that man sign" my HD keeps telling me I have too any plants all the time. But you know he enjoys the compliments from the neighbors and they sure would understand that sign!!!
So is the spring plant swap at your house? I think it should be so you can show off that georgeous wall you have been working ont his summer.

You need to do something about the delivery guy. Get those numbers done!!! If you want him to handle your precious kids with care.
