Where do pictures of Fungi go?

Well that is a fungi collection you have there Raydio!

I think I have some that look pretty much the same, I don't think I have a Boinnnng though. Isn't it strange we are having these at the same time, when you are having hot weather. Ours is quite warm, but there are the cooler misty dull spells intermingling, they must like that.

There seems to be many more fungi around than I used to have, fungi means a healthy environment for plants.

Can I play too?

How about a sugar covered jam doughnut, the wine bottle is missing but we have the cork.

I think this one is untouchable, reminds me of the glowing white effect you get when you put sodium/potassium in water (they booth burn but I forget which looks white hot), about to explode.

Camera just couldn't cope with the danger.......

Have you fungus friends read the book "Reflections on Fungaloids" by Betty Williamson?

I highly recommend it for anyone who appreciates mushrooms. Very beautiful and colorful artwork with interstesting stories. I gave the book to my sister as a gift last year and we both loved it.

Here's one of my favorites: Geastrum fimbriatum (Sessile Earthstar).
The little inner ball is full of spores. Each raindrop that hits it sends out a tiny puff of "smoke".

Here's a closer look showing the outer covering that splits open to form the star. These came into my yard on some wood much one year.
