I had to cut some sizeable shoots from around the base of my 7 ft tall false aralia - would these possible root if I through them in some water?

LOL...I guess you will!
Like I said before, I gave up on these plants (though I *LOVE* their look:( )
a long time ago.
But....I do recall reading that these need bottom heat for propagation.
The plus side of that is the summer weather, as I find that almost *anything* will sprout roots if the weather is hot and humid outdoors, and you place a cutting in soil in the shade......might look droopy for a few days, but should have roots within a couple of weeks.
Water *might* work....but only if the location is quite warm.
