Wallaby, checking my records, the mixes that I purchased were #4, 5, and 7. They are all good mixes; I don't think 7 is available now. I lost track of which was which in the seedling bed. If you don't have problems with phytosanitary requirements I can make some seed for you from the lilies in this thread and send to you. I have sent to Australia without any problems.
A couple more seedlings...
Oh yes please! There is no problem with seeds sent to here, it's only plants. That's very kind of you to offer, I wonder if I could reciprocate in any way? Talk to you later about that.
Thanks!
LOL They do look like donuts with sprinkles and the last one looks like it's doing a swan dive. Yes, high time to move them from the seedling bed, they're all lovely grown-ups.
RE: the McRae seedlings... I have to laugh. I was just reviewing last fall's bulb list and realized that the McRae seedlings are actually "...derived from the breeding stock of Dr. Chris North..." Well no wonder I was thinking Lankongense hybrids as they bloomed! And I see I paid only $3 for each of them. I want more for sure and our regional list for fall will be out soon:-)
Georgous, one and all. Spots on the backs of petals I thought were unique to martagon types, until I saw them (slightly) on lankongense. Do you think that might also be where they came from on your pic of June 23, 11:11pm? Or are there other gene sources for such a trait that I have ignored? Or, maybe the spots are just showing through from the front face.
????
The North hybrids incorporate lankongense so I expect some lankongense in the genes of these 2 sdlgs. Note that I mentioned some fragrance in that spotted one. I have intermated the 2 sdlgs but don't see much seed production but I will know for sure when I harvest the pods later in the fall.
Pardalinum - your mcrae seedlings are so amazingly beautiful. Where can I purchase some of these from?
Thanks
Maureen
Hi Maureen-- Dr. North hybrids are available through The Lily Garden. The McRae seedlings from Dr. North's program were available last year through the Pacific Northwest Lily Society's bulb sale. He may have made them available to other societies but I don't know. I am expecting this fall's list to come out any time and if they are offered I am going to get more of them! The sale is open only to members. I know people from all over the country join just to have access to the sale and the unusual bulbs offered. Here is the link to their site:

Pardalinum, thank you so much for this info. Would they allow a NY'er to be one of their members? Do you physically have to go to the sale or can I order right from the website? I think I might have to join :-) I'll go to great lenghts for pretty flowers
Thanks
Maureen
Our most distant member in the US lives in Maine so they will probably take a NY'er;-) It is too late to get in on this sale but if you join for '07 you will get the Spring bulb sale list in the mail (not on website). These have no pictures, just descriptions but for named cultivars you can usually find pictures on the internet and of course The Lily Garden pictures on their web site. Bulbs are shipped from The Lily Garden at the usual rates you would expect to pay. Sometimes I pick mine up and sometimes I have them shipped. It's about a 170 mile round trip for me.
As far as I know the PNWLS is the only society that ships lily bulbs.
HI Pardalinum, thank you so much for this info. I will be joining for the spring. I really appreciate the info you have given me. Thanks a bunch. I just ordered some lilys for buggycrazy. I'm going to list them on the forum so I can get some feedback, I hope I picked good ones.
Maureem
HI Pardalinum, I have one more question. When I become a member and order bulbs from their spring sale, who ships them to me? Did I read correct, they ship from the Lily Garden to me? So who does the payment get sent to, etc? Sorry if I'm being a pest...
Maureen
You will get instructions on ordering and payment when the pamphlet comes out. It will have an order form where you check off each one you want and how many. They are usually divided into three groups: Columbia-Platte (aka The Lily Garden), Northwest Bulbs (Mak family), and Ed McRae bulbs. A nice all around selection to choose from.I am pretty sure the checks are made out to the PNWLS.
Pardalinum - you are a gem. I'm going to sign up tonight. I'm itching to get in.
Maureen
