rhizomes will rot if wrapped in wet paper towels , canna rhizomes should ship dry rhizomes with no leaves .....
besy way is to put each rhizomes in a brown paper bay write the name of the canna rhizomes on the outside of the bag ,pack and mail...
I used to collect cannas ....
emh is right. we should just use little brown paper bags for each individual rhizome.

WOW alot of participation. WTG gapeahen. I cant wait. I am marking all of mine now so they are ready when they stop blooming. Which in my case I may have to take up before that it is starting to get cold at nites here. And wow I did find out that I have 3 named also. My mothers house has some beautiful bright yellow ones that are about 7' tall right now just gorgeous. I can still some of her rhizomes to beings I am the one who put them there......LOL

I like you like to get boxes and my mail lady too has to get out of her little truck and bring it to door. I live on a 5 lane hwy and my mail box is across the street. So I like it when she has to bring me a box......LOL

That is the problem hun from the 28 on we will be very busy getting thing ready. I can get the box already to mail then maybe I can just slip it in the mail....Yes that is what I will do when I dig them up I will just get the box ready so when you send the addy all I have to do is put it on the box. Hey we got it, it will all work.

I am getting excited here. My Dad loves Canna's he will be so suprised when I bring him new ones. We dont get the variety here. Just plain Jane. This is the most exciting one we have. Well except Dads that are over 7' tall, but yellow.
I hope maybe there is some variegated leaves in the trade. I will probably be digging mine up in the next week or two. Just saw that the nites are going to get in the 40's.
I love pictures so the new thread will be very nice. Everybody please post. However I wont be able to post any pictures of the Canna's in bloom until Spring.
