iris are here at last

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Just finished reading this thread and it sound like you may not have any of those irises anymore so never mind! Thanks anyway.

Great to hear from you Tazzy! We have been wondering about you. Sounds like your new place will be more managable for you. I know what you mean about not being able to keep up. My garden usually looks a whole lot better than the inside of my house. I can only keep up with one, so I do the one I enjoy and just shut my eyes when I'm inside.
Will you have room for lots of containers. I think those and raised beds are the way to go. I am thinking of getting rid of my huge compost pile since digging it out every few years is getting to be a big job for me and now that I have all of my garden mulched, it will be hard to work in the compost anyway. Thinking of plant some Elderberry bushes in it's place.
Anyway, welcome bad and good luck on getting the old place sold.

Tazzy, are you going to be selling any of your iris?

Its been hot here also. Seems to be all over the states that way, but think that you have us beat, as we only have gotten to 99, but we do have that nasty humidity to go with the hight temps.

Shall I back a dumptruck up to your place??? Ha ha

Organization! When I tackle a big task, I set out boxes to fill: sell box, keep box, curb box (giveaway to whoever will take it!) I sort one room at a time & the items have make a choice. As the "keep" box fill, I mark them "keep " and load in car to take to new house.
As the "sell" boxes fill, they get marked "sell" and move to their own pile in a garage or porch for the upcoming sale. (Price when you put it out.) The giveaway stuff gets carted to the curb box by box & passerby people will kindly haul it away so I can refill the box with MORE. (One lady's junk is another's treasure.)

Sell all you can & leave the left-over stuff for the public to haul away.

We used this method at a friend's house to clear her garage so she could actually put her car in the garage. One pile was ex-hubby's non-running convertible loaded with all his junk she had been storing for 4 years. We pushed it out to the street & called him. "Come & get it or the neioghbors will take it all by morning!" He picked it up FAST!

We put used windows and doors against a tree--a guy came by with a pickup truck & asked to take it all. We made a stack of "gargare sale stuff" and sold as people came by. We put old pots, tools, books, rugs, 1/2 empty paint cans etc by the curb. HUGE pile!

By the end of the day, the things left only filled 1/2 of a garbage can. Good news that most of it recycled to become someone else's garage! :) And her car fits!!!
