What would you plant in here?

Nottingham, MD(Zone 7a)

The shoe is 4 inches in diameter. I didn't know what else to stick in there, so I put a cane begonia I'd been rooting in water in it until I decide what to do with it long term. What would you all plant in there?

Hens & Chicks look really cute in containers such as that.

I have a tennis shoe pretty similar to that :)

You could also put a nice little clump of Armeria in the top hole:

Cute :)

OHHH Char, that is just 2 sweet!

Again Hen & Chicks would work but I could also picture some sedum sprawling down his sides :)

I have a pretty sedum called October Daphne which I should be able to take a little from this summer (I split her up pretty hard last year for someone but it doesn't take much).

Here is a picture of Daphne:

GH......I think a 'creeper' would look great in that shoe....like.....baby's tears, creeping charlie or jenny (or whoever!) or creeping fig.

Char, that is cute....and I would *have* to put Burro's tail in that one!
(Sedum morganium or Sedum 'burrito'!)

Ah Kim - love THAT sedum...on my "have" to get list...LOL

Yes agree with those that mentioned something low growing or trailing...how cute would that look? Even a Burros Tail type of thing.
