Laurief: Do you have some good online sources for SDB's? I'm afraid I am coming down with sdb fever. Is it contagious?
and now for the SDBs ...
They have a wide color scale. How tall is the average foliage on these?
bluegrass425, I haven't measured the foliage height, and I'm not sure it would be representative in my garden, anyway (few things grow "normally" here in the frigid north). If I had to venture a guess, I'd say 12" foliage height is about average here - maybe less.
Back to the show ...
LITTLE EPISODE is a favorite of mine, but my CoolPix refuses to capture its color correctly. It's really far more lovely in person.
That is my favorite so far! Let the show continue!
Wow is right on Gentle Grace! Keep the photos comin!
Sigh. Looking at your Dwarfs has given me a whole new appreciation for the cultivar. The color combinations are so unusual.
Gentle Grace --- WOWEE!!!
I'm very happy to have CHERRY GARDEN blooming for the first time here. I've been wanting to compare it to one of my unknowns (which looks like it'll open tomorrow). I'm pretty sure it'll be a match.
Joe has always called the unknown the "red cabbage iris", as that's a precise description of its rich color.
Oooooeeeeeee.....I ordered Blue Line for shipment in July!! Can't wait. It's a cutie. Keep 'em coming, Laurie.
Where did you order from, Brenda?
Sea Monster is a very interesting little guy! All these lovely ones are tempting me to squeeze in a few more of the little ones.
Susan
I vote for Gentle Grace! Wow! How long have you been collecting these? I, also, would like to know where your favorite supplier might be?
I LOVE sea monster! Wanda, I think "sea monster" and "nessie" are just what you need to accompany your garden sculpture of nessie...
I should have been spending more time HERE! I think I am in deep trouble now! I do love Gentle Grace and then how do I choose.............think I better give DH the checkbook now before I do the google!
Laurief, Thank you for sharing your pics!
They are all simply splendid! What a treat to see them... I would like to get to them all, but What Again and Gentle Grace are on my absolutely must have list now! I look forward to more pics... Starr
Hooked, Ice Chalet and By Word are just beautiful...
Thanks fsr33!
Laurie,
It must be so exciting each day to go see what has bloomed!
Thanks for sharing your joy!!
It IS exciting but also exasperating on a day like today when 10 more irises opened (including my first 3 IBs of the season) but it rained ALL DAY so I couldn't take any pics! AARRGGHH!! Those blooms better not be all melted tomorrow!
It's been raining her since Sat.! Sounds like we may get good weather my Monday!
I'm a chocoholic...Must have chocolate cupcake! Do you remember where you got it?
