Maxine, very nice! Is that an old farm tractor in the back of your garden?

Moab, UT(Zone 6b)

Great peonies and lilies, your garden is sooo beautiful.

Maxine, how gorgeous your garden is!! You must love springtime. I bet in real life - - it is *prettier* than a picture!! Do you redo/replant your garden every year, or just let it grow each year to see how it develops?

Hooked, what good eyes you have! That is a very old cultivator that I inherited from my uncle.

Margie, most of the time I just let it go. If I get too many of any one plant I place them on a plant sale with a friend.
This is the yr. that I must dig out quack grass and get things in order, plus dig and divide all those iris. I've lost count but think that I have around 200 now.

Maxine, my yard has two old tractors! My DH has one restored and is working one the other. Do you know the name of the yellow iris in the front of your last photo? It looks like it has a lighter edge on the falls. Very pretty!

Western, WI(Zone 4a)

Hooked, if you wish, I can send you a rhizome of the yellow iris in the spring. Just remind me as I don't remember very well.
Must write everything down and then forget to look at whats written down.

Maxine,
That would be great! I could trade with you or sent postage. Do you dig your iris in the Spring? Only asking because I see all the iris growers won't send until after July. I usually dig when ever I feel the need. Just wondered what your thoughts are?

Western, WI(Zone 4a)

Oh, I would just as soon trade, if you don't mind.

Right now iris are under 8" of snow, so not going out and look to see if it is named.
I dig when ever I get the time or some one wants one. Take extra care to see that it is well watered in and then kept watered once a week. Until I see new shoots coming.

Are any of you having any luck with reblooming irises, especially in the cooler climates?

Farmington, ME(Zone 4b)

Maxine,
That sounds good to me! We'll talk more about a trade in the Spring! You're right to much snow to worry about it yet!
Thanks!

Woodspirit1, sorry I can't help with reblooming.I'm not sure if any of mine are rebloomers. I've never had any rebloom for me.

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

I have at least 20 re-bloomers, but only 2 re-bloom consistently for me in Iowa: Immortality & Clarence. That said, we had a wet . cool August & 6 re-bloomed heavily for me.

Here is a thread where we talked about re-bloomers last fall...

Maxine--my most fragrant peonies are the old pink ones you show. I got them at seven years old when the near-by park was moving some 1910 roots to make room for a new road. There were 3 other colors too--33 roots in all that I made my poor Daddy plant in a long row along the woods. My brothers cursed them for decades as they had to mow around them. When I built this home 14 years ago, I brought pieces with me. The peonies are so fragrant that the whole neighborhood knows when they are in bloom.
