My irises that i planted last spring where a few of them bloomed that same season, got a little controle today. Want to know if i gonna lose some or not. Saw SIGN OF LION; ENGLISH COTTAGE made a nice spread. And up till now they are all there and well. pffffffff

Tiger Honey was vigorous & heavy blooming last year. Nice sturdy stalks too.

Thornbird is one of the newer ones I grow--unusual colors & great blooming period.

John - I think tazzy is gonna do some inventive packing to try and disguise the iris. So she's saying carefully look thoughout the package so as not to miss anything. Am I right, Tazzy?

I am enjoying this thread very much. I don't have any pictures to post, but I am having a blast seeing all of yours... Next year I will have some to share... (come on spring!)

I have really developed a "need" for iris after lurking in this forum for the last few months. eek!! Anybody have suggestions on how to haul a couple hundred or so bags of soil and composte up on the roof? Have to make a space for those iris somewhere!!

I have another idea.... I could be your surrogate plant mom, and you could come and visit me and plant as much as you want... I have lots and lots of room.... I can tend them for you and you can have visitation anytime you want it.... ;)

Starr, I am so looking forward to spring too. I added 22 new irises this year and more are on their way! Can't wait to see your photos!

LOL Tazzy, I really think there is no need to take off roof -- just knock a couple of rooms off the house and that will open up a little more planting space!

Let me see... I'm thinking of what Iris I will order next month, but those won't arrive until July or so. Got to peek thru my iris files & find something pretty to hook all you non-believers....

How about the inexpensive & easy growing Edith Wolford? Always catches eyes in my garden.

Sultan's Palace is one of my strongest modern reds....

Hoiw about a really OLD one--Florentina? It pleases me to think that Queen Elizabeth I might have had this in her garden since it came out in the 1500s.
