Naked ladies & CLC #3

Johnston, IA(Zone 5a)

Llilyfan, that is an absolutely breathtaking picture. I'd imagine the air was filled with the sweet scent of those lilies for several weeks. Thank you for sharing that beautiful image with us, especially on a day when our Iowa gardens are dormant and mostly snow covered.

Yep, I've been plowing thru my pictures on my 'putor looking for remember ones but there are so MANY and I can only keep on looking. It's winter out and nothings pretty under that flat white light.

We've no snow for which I am grateful, and even found my sheltered corner warm enough for sitting out in this afternoon. There's an ell on the house that hoards the southwest sun and it's a blessing in the winter. ~Blooms

Sand Springs, OK(Zone 7a)

I did not book mark this and have been in la la land wondering why no one was posting , brain hic cup !

Moab, UT(Zone 6b)

Well, there you are Wanda the wandera... Don't feel bad I been lost for days: heehee hiccup

"We should practise a little now?
So people who know us are not too shocked and surprised
When suddenly we are old and start to wear purple."

The last lines from "When I am Old.. " a copy of the book was a present from my DIL and am so happy to have one of my own. ~Blooms

Hey all......slowly catching up on my DG readin'

Glad to see everyone survived the holiday! Any New Year's Resolutions being contemplated?

Sorry I missed your BDay, Blooms....glad it was a good one. Belated Happy Birthday.

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

Lilyfan, I'm swooning over here!!! WOW! You ARE an artist! What an inspiring photo! (Note to self--order even MORE lilies in the spring).

Just got my "Round Robin " box from daylily970 (Belinda) & had to share this with the "club".:

At last, the PERFECT ornament for a Naked Lady Club member--a teddy bear on an bulb that reads: "I'd Rather be Naughty " ! LOL I collect Christmas ornaments from my travels and with special meanings. This one is PERFECT to mark my CLC membership!

That's definitely you!

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

I was thinking of picking one up for YOU! And Tazzy, of course! LOL

Lenexa, KS(Zone 6a)

A badge of membership, eh? I LIKE that idea.

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

Now, to see if I can find some. How many members do we have, anyway? I lost count over the Holidays along with my mind.

Sand Springs, OK(Zone 7a)

Mind what mind ? we are CLC what part of CRAZZY dont you understand ?? FOFLHO

Moab, UT(Zone 6b)

We're just practising very hard for when we grow old... My kids tell me they'll never be able to tell the difference, as I get their names wrong all their lives,. heehee I've been working on eccentric, how'm I doin?

Asked that of a male friend about 20 years ago when he came up the driveway to find me plasticking windows on an 8ft ladder in my dirndl skirt and peasant blouse.
He said I was getting it down. LOL

Plano, TX(Zone 8a)

Blooms,
When I call one of my girls, I usually always call them the other two names before I get to the correct one. It's really bad when you start adding the doggy's name to the list!

Moab, UT(Zone 6b)

Lookee Lookee totally out of the blue I got a present in the mail today... may have been sitting there a coupla days... A little padded envelope and I thought seeds!?

Nope, it's this amazing pin and it's from Scooterbug.
Isn't she just the sweetest thing? Said it made her think of me in my Tnksgvng Outfit. TNX Scooter, ya made my day!!! ~Blooms

Love the pin! And watch your mailbox, Blooms!

Moab, UT(Zone 6b)

Oh Golly me next?!!! Goody! Mine's not wrapped but it's gathered. Starr's next. hahaha

Norwood, MO(Zone 6a)

Did I hear laughing?... heh heh... that is an adorable pin, Blooms, it's you... and yes, I think you do eccentric rather well... I have been working on 'being old' for quite awhile, and didn't even know it... I somehow missed eccentric and wound up just plain strange... lol...

What a cute teddy ornament, Wanda... perfect for the CLC ...

Terrie, I have been calling my kids by the wrong name all my life... I helped raise my brothers and sisters so my kids were at the end of the list... I still call my daugher by my sisters name, and now I call my GD by my daughters name... they dont seem to mind... if I call them, they answer ...

Brenda, Moby : Tazzy has lost her mind AGAIN! Come and help us look for it... We been looking all afternoon and can't find a trace of it ... ;)

Moab, UT(Zone 6b)

Be glad to help, does anyone remember what it looked like? When I loose something it helps to trace back to when I remember having it. Tazzy, do you remember when you last had it? Were you at Twyla's? Have you seen it since you fell down the hill?

I'll check out by the naked ladies, if you'll look in the back of the closet. heehee

Muscoda, WI(Zone 4b)

Ohhhhh...I've missed out on SO much! :-D

Looks like the CLC is still going strong. And it looks like, thanks to another DG member (who hasn't found THIS place yet...but also wants me back behind the digitizing software), that I might just get my arse in gear with that CLC embroidery design.

Anyone have any suggestions. Hey Scotter! Mind if I have a try with the design on that pin? It would make a good one!

~julie~
HAPPY NEW YEAR Everyone!

Norwood, MO(Zone 6a)

Hi Julie, Good to see ya! Pardon us, while we help Tazzy find her mind.... she lost it again.... Bless her dear heart...

Muscoda, WI(Zone 4b)

OH! I know where it is! >:-}) but I'm not giving it back just yet. hehehehe (It might come in handy since I'm looking for mine too. :-D)

~julie~

Moab, UT(Zone 6b)

Oh, Julie the lady on the pin would be perfect in the center of that design.

I just got back in from a slow picture taking walk with my DS + DiL - she and I were taking pics he was throwing a frisbee to the dog. We made slow, but interesting progress.

Lichen encrusted rocks, dynamite view, and the snow is all up in the mountains where I can look at its beauty without actually experiencing it. LOL

Anybody else think this looks like Chief Pontiac - like used to ride the hood on the car?

Norwood, MO(Zone 6a)

I thought I was the only one seeing faces and shapes in rocks, mountains, clouds, bones, etc...Now you will know that I am really certifiable, but I paint the bones with the faces I see there... I see cheif pontiac, too... at least I am not alone... I got you and Tazzy so that I don't look quite so nutso! ;)

Moab, UT(Zone 6b)

Whose Bones? or should I say what bones.?

Norwood, MO(Zone 6a)

roflh ... mostly cow bones... some horse bones... once found a perfectly preserved calf skull... it is pristine... bones have faces on them...

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

HORSE BONES??!! Starr, you said you were selling your horses. lol!

Moab, UT(Zone 6b)

BIG GUFFAW here. ROFL

Norwood, MO(Zone 6a)

Oh Geez, Mendy... I 'bout choked... you ought not do that to a body... especially a horse lover... Oh, Golly!!! (picking self off floor)... take it easy on me.. I been sick (looks pitiful)... First, I FIND these bones...I do not harvest them!!!... Second, I am not selling ALL the horses just a few to get it down to a number I can manange... Third, come on out and visit and see what I am talking about... love to have company...

Blooms, you choked, too, right?

Sand Springs, OK(Zone 7a)

we all did something i spit coke on monitor. THUD !ROFLMHO

Norwood, MO(Zone 6a)

still gasping for breath... Oh Lordy....

Taz, coke not fun to get off monitor...

Moab, UT(Zone 6b)

Actually I seem to have acquired a spot on my screen that seems both permant and pepsi like.

Norwood, MO(Zone 6a)

LOL, Blooms!

OK, Mendy, we owe ya one! ;)

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

Glad I can provide some entertainment for you ladies! Sorry 'bout your screen, Blooms. lol!

Starr, I'd be there in a heartbeat if I could! That photo you posted (different thread) is beautiful. Would love to go riding there with you. You need to get back up on those horses! You know what they say...."when you fall off, you gotta get right back on.".....well, after your ankle heals, of course!

Norwood, MO(Zone 6a)

thats my prob... it didnt heal.. and i rode bareback all God's Creation when I was young... but now? well i just too old and out of shape... but i did read about a thingy that just might help and am considering trying it out this spring...

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

I used to ride bareback too....that's how I learned. What are you going to try?

Looked up dates for those RUs. KY and IA are during school....no good for us....still working on Mom.

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

* * * AH - HA ! ! ! * * *

Found all y'all . How did I miss this ??

You can run but you can't hide from this CL (well at least not too long ) ............ lol

Blooms , I'm glad the pin made you happy. Happiness , love & Belly Laughs are the elixir of life .. IMO

Now we gotta find ya a pair of pink mules to wear with your outfit.

Moab, UT(Zone 6b)

That's how I learned too. Would drag my cousin's horse Bucky over to the fence so I could climb on / couldn't lift the saddle at that point in my life/ then a coupla bumps in the slats and we'd proceed on a nice ambling wander across the meadow.

I'd have to make sure he didn't get his head turned toward the barn while we were heading out. Then I'd get a grip on the reins and mane both, clamp down with my knees, dig in my bare heels, and yell "Go Bucky Go".

And that horse would lay himself out for that half mile to the barn. and I'd better be well tucked when we came to the door cause he didn't stop 'till he hit the feed bucket in his stall.

Good memories. I was a skinny little kid in braids. Margaret O'Brien without the freckles. Actually my own aunt said a little hellion and probably much like any farm kid of the day.

There is a special device that allows a rider to balance with their thighs instead of their feet. I am thinking of trying it...

rats, well the b-day is most important, but I hope you can make it...

Moab, UT(Zone 6b)

This is getting almost like Tuesday knights with all the cross posting going on - heehee

yay Starr try it first if 'ya can.
Riding was a girlhood thing with occasional rides scattered throughout adulthood.
I don't mind being an adult, as long as I don't hafta grow up.

Norwood, MO(Zone 6a)

were we supposed to grow up? I knew we had to get older, but grow up too? My body may be old, but in my heart (mind) I still ride bareback with no bridle and guide the horse with my legs... ah, youth....
