that could be used as stakes. I have the room, so while clumping type is preferred, running would be okay. anyone have a small start?
looking for bamboo
Try Psuedosasa Japonica.
Japanese Arrow Bamboo. It is said to be a slow runner but don't believe it. I transfered a specimen to a 15g from a 5 and I already have a rhyzome sneaking out the bottom.
The culms are narrow and thin and as the name suggests the ancient Japanese warriors used this bamboo to make arrows.
It also depends on what your min temps get in winter.
If you dont get to cold try Bambusa Textilis which is very vertical.
thanks Tom!
tiG, one of my sons has a lot next to where he lives that is full of bamboo. I'm thinking that I can get some without a problem. The lot is vacant and he never sees anyone there. I'll try and get us some. I need somethng to stake with also. Jim
