I am sorry I don't have any information about your neat looking plant but I have been curious about your screen name. Is Creel your name or is it referencing a fishing creel?

The thorns in the plant in question are simple; the ones in the link are trifurcated.

Creel is also a city in chihuahua, Mexico in the Copper canyon. I am curious too.

Or run and hide! LOL

Celaya, Mexico(Zone 10a)

LOL neither, but I´m currently on vacation in Europe (my old home) and do not have every day Internet access.
The Panamon Creel screen name comes from a Book by Terry Brooks (Fantasy genre).
As for the Hyperlink from Elaine, nope thats not it. Currently waiting for flowering time since the plant looks really good with the red flower bracts on it.
Back to vacationing, 2 more weeks to go :).

Shucks! I was hoping I had tracked down a long long lost relative... They have been hiding for generations for some reason... LOL!
