Philodendron When To Take Cuttings?

Severn, MD(Zone 7a)

When can I take cuttings from a Philodendron and how do I plant the cutting so that it will grow?

I take cuttings of philodendron about any time. They are such easy plants. Just make sure you have a node in the dirt or water to root. What kind of philodendron do you have? I am partial to the podophyllums.. but love them all.

I have a satin photo and a heart shaped philodendrons. Can I ask you what a node is? I am very new to house plants sorry if I sound so dumb. So you would just put the cutting in water and it should grow ruts?

Mostly I just cut a good piece, several inches long and stick it in a glass of water, and it roots in just a few days.

Where the leaf attaches to the plant. Be sure to not have any plant leaves under the water line.

Bayside,

A node is an aerial root bud, a bump on the stem where a root will form if the plant is given a totem (usually a part bark part wood slab climbing pole) for it to cling to. In very layman terms it looks like a wart.
