A tall tale - 12' cactus

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

I don't usually venture into this forum because I am not a grower of most succulents, but I thought you'd all get a kick out of this fella. This monster cactus is 12' tall and about 5" in diameter - how do you like that?

It belongs to friends who incorporates their cacti into their outdoor landscape during the summer months. This fella is tied to a tree for support. As you can see, it's just in a tiny pot - and its original soil, too. What a sight that was to behold.

Boy that is sure interesting.

Isn't it? I can't believe how tall a plant can grow on how small a root system. That thing's in a shallow pot with a 7" diameter at the most.

How on earth does he bring it in & out without breaking it? I wonder how tall it would get in a BIG pot!

LOL, he said it's a two or three person job. They kinda lay the whole thing on its side indoors during the winter months. I keep forgetting to post my other pictures of his cacti mixed in with his perennials. It's quite a contrast, let me tell ya!
