Sounds like you had a great day.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

yeah, I did.
Hope your day was good, too - puppy sitting lol
Here's my new Boston fern - it's huge!

seeds, Pat? hmmmm didn't think of that, but we only have off-shoots of previous maple trees, only about 1 ft tall. No more trees. Keep cutting them down. I have NO maple trees on my property, nor my neighbours but that doesn't seem to matter.

Betty - I missed your previous postings - the kids were SO cute in their Minnie Mouse & firemen costumes. Not his 1st Hallowe'en, so I'm sure he enjoyed it. Hope, well I don't think she would even know what it was about lol

Love trees, planted over 20 about 20 years ago, paying big time, sooo many leaved, only bugs I've had over the years was those tent caterpillars, yuk.

My niece gave me a slip from grandma's fern, almost lost it. Will buy a good bag of soil for it and will replant in meantime I will put an aspiring in a cup of cold tea, it's what grandma always fed it. Your plants look happy.

I appliqued berries and leaves on Sharon's block, made Halloween goodie bags for Grayson and Hope.

Cleaned the closet and called the lady that is getting clothing for the needy, Sharon gave me a pattern for knit toques so I will make some this month.
Dreary rainy day, going to have soup then grab an hour's rest til Giorgia gets here

Betty, i thought earlier you said Sharon was making a zebra print block? Guess I read that wrong.
That block is beautiful.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

aspirin in a cup of cold tea? Guess I know how to feed my fern now. Thank you, Betty.
LK - I was sure she said a zebra print block, too

No, she made one but is doing it for a friend.
Suppose to be a warmer day today so like it or not I must get out and finish winterized pond, putting Xmas lights on front deck before the snow comes and set in my barn board shed for winter storage, there will go Wednesday.

What are you all up to today?

Pat haven’t seen you pist8ng, you and Marie ok?

Beautiful quilt. I thought you said she was making one, just didn't remember it was for someone else.
Just taking it easy today. Doing laundry, washing lizzies bedding from the whelping box.

Imagine it takes a lot of work Linda Kay having that many puppies, at least Lizzie is able to feed them and you're not having to bottle feed that's a plus. Just came in for a break it's absolutely gorgeous out there warm breeze and here Marie came over and helped me emptied the pond put the Christmas lights on the balconies and a few trees a tree next to the front of the balcony so once the call comes so the snow comes I won't have to do it on the weekend I'll take down all of Halloween and maybe do a few other things outside that will be ready for when the snow comes. Seems far away but often we get snow mid-november and it stays so that's only weeks away. Has snowed before on Halloween and stayed but hopefully not this year. Supposed to be all nice all day tomorrow but then start to rain in the afternoon isn't that always the way with those poor little kids out in the cold in the rain

Read your post Lindakay and it said there was more, I pressed on the more button but nothing came up so either it's not catching the whole post or there was no more after you said you were doing the whelping box

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Whelping box was the end of my last post.
I am so glad we don't have to bottle feed this time..
We have a possible freeze warning for tonight. Supposed to get down to 34 degrees. My son and daughter in law are outside trying to get plants covered.

often DG will show there's a new post, when actually it was your post. I'll see a "more" notice and I was the last one to post. It's been doing that for weeks now.

Just super busy. Still elling off surplus stuff, making dog & cat pads for the shelter. We're trying to finish up all the baby blankets so we can get them donated.

Marie & I bought a Christmas tree. We thought her's was too big around. Marie wanted to try a flocked tree but didn't want to be locked into one forever. I told her I thought we should buy a used one or something cheap so we didn't feel guilty about not keeping it, if we didn't want to.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Susan, that is happening to me as well.
Pat, praying you get your projects done, so you can rest.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Linda, you need to update us with puppy pictures! We can NEVER have too many puppy pictures!

Today I got a call from someone who would like to be a part of the Robbie Burns night here, but can only do it on the 24th and he'll bring 16 people with him for dinner. I put a call in for the piper to see if she can come a day earlier. She travels from Calgary and that's an hour's drive

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

I hope it works out for you Susan.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Well, the person who'd bring the 16 for the dinner said he'd also offer a piper, someone to do the Selkirk Grace, bear in the haggis, do a toast to the haggis, and the Toast to the Lassies. Everyone dressed in their Celtic finery. He also said the piper would be cheaper or free. So I contacted the young lady & she said she'd be able to pipe on the 24th as she gets off from college early that day. As I'd asked her first, I accepted that she'll pipe, but I do have the other entertainers, so all's good. I have the decorations, and paperwork so that's good. I went to the grocer & he's said he would donate something towards the dinner. I'm going to ask about 18 lbs of roast beef, and hopefully he can provide that. Then I would just have to get the potatoes & turnips. Things are turning out better than I thought they would. SO happy.

The Hallowe'en party at the Community Centre turned out well. I'll have to post a picture of me in my costume. I got a lot of other pics too. Kids are SO cute :)
